This is the main gate - just outside is the starting/ending point for many of the city's bus routes so it all happens here. The downside is that it is also very busy. You access the walls to walk around from this gate entrance (on you left as you come into the city)

Pile gate very nice, unfortunately there is an unpleasant smell all day - most likely because of the sewage system. At the gate there is a stop for all city bus lines and probably some suburban lines.

From $106 per nightR&C Apartment is a great place in Old Town. The location cannot be beat. Just steps from the Pile Gate and right off of the Stradun (which was important because I had a disability when we visited. The apartment is very well furnished and modern. It has many nice touches and the kitchen was fully equipped. The owners even left us some things to get started. Speaking of, the owners were very easy to communicate with and answered a number of our questions... Great. I would return and recommend this place to my friends.

Apparently ground floor doesn’t count then up two floors then the apartment itself is up another floor so that is 4 flights of stairs…. For 60 + year olds that’s a lot of stairs. Shower had a huge leak on the shower head that should be fixed but climate control was great, as was the room, just would not book again as those stairs were too much for us with luggage! Close to the Pile gate and the main drag. Neighborhood was very safe!

From $37 per nightAs with everywhere in old town, there are tons of steps, but the view from the apartment is gorgeous. Eating meals on the patio was wonderful. The location is closet Old Town and the beach. I'm not gonna lie - getting to the apartment was hard - but through no fault of the host. The directions given were good, but the airport shuttle dropped us off at a different location than expected (not Pile gate). If we go back to Dubrovnik we would definitely stay again.

Very nicely located within a 5 minute walk (with no stairs) from the Pile Gate entrance in the Old Town. Located on a side street lined with restaurants, the apartment was quiet and removed from the large crowds roaming the Stradun. The accommodations were great with fully equipped kitchen, sitting area and the rear patio that was a nice place to sit and plan our days. The bedroom and bathroom were comfortably sized. Would stay here again.

From $95 per nightThe location is perfect for visiting Dubrovnik. Right next to Pile gate, but so peaceful in the garden beyond the city which is very busy. Tina and her colleagues were fabulous, friendly, giving great recommendations but also giving you peace to relax. The rooms are lovely, really comfortable beds with great quality bed linen. Well equipped, spotlessly clean, with fab air con. A gem of a hotel and definitely will return.

The host, Mr. Vedran, was truly wonderful. He was extremely helpful in all of the requests we had, be it of personal or business nature. The apartment is beautiful and very clean. It is equipped with everything you might need for everyday life, such as an iron, hairdryer, a lot of cutlery. Also, it is very close to the Pile gate and the entrance to the Old Town of Dubrovnik.
