Ideal place to take a photo. You can take pictures with guards dressed in roman style battle armour. The changing of the guards ceremony is also rather novel and exciting. A real treat for the tourist in you.
Do a guided historical walk which is about 1.5 hours inside the city walls. It will open up your understanding to the ancient city and also allow you to appreciate it more. I’m not a history person but this was awesome
The old city was amazing. We booked a tour with Ermina from walking tours and booked to go on war history of Croatia. Fascinating to hear first hand knowledge and she knew her history. Highly recommend doing her tour. Meet at fountain in walled area at 1.30pm, wear comfortable shoes.
The cruise lines are killing the old city. Too many people. My tip is get there early and leave by 10.30 &/or get there at 16.00 when the cruise passengers have left. I thought the food and trinkets were very overpriced
The view of the Old Town from the patio was sublime. Nothing better than waking up to this view, or enjoying the sunset over the Old Town. It was such a beautiful location. The location is a very easy walk into the Old Town and the Ploče Gate, but far enough away that it is quiet and not swarmed with tourists. It was also close enough to Sveti Jakov in the other direction to easily walk there too. Sasha was very friendly and made the stay very easy and convenient.
The location is great, right outside the apartment there are stairs which take you straight to Ploce Gate of Old Town. If u cannot take the stairs back up, book an Uber. From Ploce Gate its 20Kuna and from Pile Gate 50Kuna. The host is also very welcoming and helpful. Host also responds to questions within minutes. You get almost all cookware and a washing machine as well!!
Spacious, clean, modern. Decent size bathroom. Lots of wardrobe space. Air con in each bedroom (matters when you are traveling in the heat of summer). The host, Matea, was very helpful. Approx. 10min walk to Pile Gate (mostly steps). If you prefer a gentler route with less steps, you can follow the road (there are sidewalks) 15min to Buka or Ploce gate.
Great location just outside the old town : Ploce gate into the old city is 2 min walk away. Supermarket, cafes and cable car all within 2 min walk. We had a fabulous stay, host was very nice and made us feel very welcome. I would also recommend the pickup service provided by the apartment - no need to try to locate the Apt after a long trip.
Emi was so accommodating. I booked very last minute and she had the apartment ready very quickly. The location was perfect and an easy walk to the Ploce gate. Plenty of services nearby, safe and the best part was the easy walk to the beach. The private garden is a great place to watch sunset! Thank you Emi!
Hosts are very nice and helpful. Check in was easy. Location just outside Ploce gate of old city is excellent. Bed and pillows weren’t the most comfortable. Since area is fairly crowed and on a busy street, there was some road noise. All in all a pretty good place to stay.
Liked the clothes line outside window. Also the terrace is nice to sit out on at night. The view is pretty nice. Apartment is 161 steps from Ploce gate and 200 m from bus stop near cable car. Rina helped us with organizing a trip to Mostar.
The host, Lucy, was very welcoming and great with questions and advice. The units are clean and cozy with GREAT sea views. The room had everything we needed. The location is fantastic! Just a few minutes walk from the Ploče gate.
Our hostess Iva was wonderful, even after arriving very late she was friendly and welcoming. The view is unbeatable and accessibility to the Ploce gate is fantastic. Everything about this apartment is spectacular.
The apartment is great! Very clean, neat, quiet. Superb location, just steps away to the third entrance to City Wall, yet much much less crowded than Pile Gate and Ploce Gate.
