I loved the old castle and castle grounds. The room were larger than I expected and the bathroom had a large tub. It had lots of areas you could lounge and get a drink, read, play games, or just relax. The restaurant service was wonderful and all the food was delicious.
The Maldron Hotel is just off junction 17 of the M7 motorway, only 5 minute’s drive from Portlaoise town center and O'Moore Park. It features a 20-yard pool, free Wi-Fi, free parking and a gym.

Very nice hotel, easy to get to. Staff was very friendly and helpful with questions. Beds were very comfy. Breakfast was delicious.
