A fine example of medieval Irish castle, though in ruins. The chapel is especially worth a look. And the Sheela-na-gig is located on the corner of the outside wall of the old rectory, which is now the museum. The underground garage is very near & convenient. We can take elevator to the room from the ground floor - so no problems with heavy luggage. We had dinner at the hotel restaurant & bar which seems to be a popular place in town. Any questions or concerns were addressed and he also provided information on the city and Rock of Cashel. Hotel location and rooms were worth the price alone. The breakfast and hospitality made it even more worthwhile. 2-3 minute walk to Rock of Cashel from hotel. Navigating to the hotel within Cashel is also quite accessible (first time rental car driver in Ireland). The location cannot be beat - look up at the Rock of Cashel and walk to it. Also it is easy to walking distance to town.
