The staff were incredibly welcoming and helpful. Special thanks to Sir Jalel, Allen and Houssem. The room was spotless and comfortable especially with a bidet in the toilet 😁 The location was so lively a lot of restaurants and bar. It's just a walking distance to colleseum. Overall I highly recommend this hotel for your next adventure.

We had an amazing stay at Hotel Valeri, great room, comfy beds, splendid location, 15 minutes from the Colosseum. But what made the experience most wonderful was the staff. Francesco welcomed us warmly and gave us great advice on places to visit in the city and Wassim was a great host when we arrived after a long day of sightseeing. I would recommend Hotel Valeri to anyone who travels to Rome.

Beautiful hotel. Very good location behind piazza venezia. Very nice terrace with exceptional view. Very big room compared with rome standards. Likely recently renovated. Staff very kind and helpful (i was leaving at 7:30 am, the time they normally start serving breakfast, and they opened the breakfast room exceptionally just for me at 7:15).

The Colosseum

The fights! The glory! This iconic arena specialized in gory ends. Built in the 1st century, it held up to 80,000 spectators who came to witness gladiatorial combat and bloody reenactments of naval battles. When you look up at the stands, it doesn’t take much imagination to hear the deafening roar of the crowds or to picture the fierceness on display.

Get there early and there will be less crowds. Bring your passport as they did ask for it. (I think you could have gotten in with just a picture ID, but same yourself the time. There is an elevator they can be used.

In my opinion it is highly overrated.

In my opinion it is highly overrated. On the outside it looks impressive, but once you're in - it's just a ruin. There are other Roman arenas that still function - operas, theatre, concert halls (like Verona or Pula) - this one is just a walkthrough. Sad, really.

It's a beautiful place and if you have access to multiple places, I would recommend booking at least half a day, because it's not exactly small. If you only have access to the arena, then 30 minutes is enough. Entry is at a specific time (there's no point in getting there earlier) - they really strictly let you in at a specific time. Toilets are available inside (unless you have bought a ticket for just the arena).

This was a bit of a disappointment. We bought a guided tour but it was so crowded that we had to wait in line for a long time before even entering the site. And when we got in, there were so many people it was tough to hear our guide. Still, if we didn't have a guide, I'm sure it would have been much worse.

The Coliseum was fascinating, but when you leave, watch out for pickpockets and thieves. They operate extensively in this area. We saw two couples who were victims of unsuccessful attacks of these persons. There is no policing around this area, which makes you wonder why, as it is well known for its pick pockets and opportunistic theives.

The apartment is very comfortable. Looks just like the pictures. Quiet at night. Very Little street noise that gets drowned out by the AC. The host is very friendly and accommodating with meeting us upon arrival. We like the Monti area and that it was a 10 minute walk to the colosseum. Easy to find the metro (5-10 minute walk) to get to the Vatican. Plenty of cafes and restaurants near by. Grocery store close by as well. We would stay again.

A very convenient location, a few streets away from the Colosseum, Palatine Hill, Roman Forum, restaurants, Metro and even grocery store. Most tourist attraction are near it walkable like at least 30 mins. The location was the best part. AC is a good addition ,it was hot when we had our vacation. And it met our expectations for what we mostly needed in the apartment during our stay.

The room was spacious, clean, and comfortable. The location is absolutely perfect – the Colosseum and many other landmarks are just across the street and within walking distance. Bus stops, a metro station, and a supermarket are also nearby, which is very convenient. There are plenty of great restaurants in the area – you'll always have options. A special mention to the staff – they were very polite and friendly, always ready to help. Overall, the hotel left a very good impression.

Location was excellent. A few minutes from the Colosseum and 10 min or so from the Trevi Fountain. Shops and little cafes within a min or less. Close to everything. Breakfast was so nice. We were treated so well by all the employees. So very helpful and courteous. I would definitely stay there again. I was w my 25 yr old daughter and we both felt extremely safe at the hotel and the whole area. Loved it.

The Host is supper friendly and speaks well many different languages, which in Italy it is not easy to find such persons. I loved the possibility of choosing the breakfast in advance and receiving it early hour in the room. The location it is surely one of the best in Rome, literally few minutes' walk to the Colosseum and Santa Maria Maggiore.

I had a wonderful stay at the Royal House Hotel in Rome. The staff was incredibly friendly and welcoming, which made the experience even more enjoyable. My room was very clean and comfortable, and the highlight was the stunning view of the Colosseum right outside my window—it doesn’t get more Roman than that! The location is perfect for exploring the city, and I truly couldn’t have asked for a better experience. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Rome, and I would definitely stay here again.
