After viewing the Pisa Tower I would strongly recommend a walk up on the wall of the old town of Pisa. Do this either early morning or closer to Sun set. Cooler and more beautiful views from the walk.
Most people take their photos right in front. There are hundreds of people especially between 10am and 3pm. Go around 4pm and walk to the other side of the tower. You get great shots and less crowded areas.
We happened to be at the Leaning Tower just before 10pm and got tickets for walking up with no queue. Worth trying at this time if you didn't manage to get tickets during the day (it closed at 10pm when we were there in August 2019).
The leaning tower is, well, leaning.. great to see this iconic landmark, but not sure it is worth paying €18 to go up it. I preferred the view from the ground. I recommend visiting at night when it was cooler and less crowded, but beautifully illuminated.
It was good to see such a famous building. The buildings surrounding the tower including the cathedral are beautiful (we only had chance to see it from the outside.) It was surprisingly crowded near the tower despite it being a Monday evening (6.30 p m) in April.
Wear flat shoes. We went along early as we hadn’t booked and got tickets for entry at 9:45 which was great, we literally walked from ticket office, took some photos, placed our belongings in the lockers provided and were literally the 3rd and 4th in the queue!
Great location, steps away from the Pisa train station and a 15-20 minute walk to the city's main attraction: Leaning Tower of Pisa! Friendly staff but most of all the included breakfast is one of the most generous I've had in quite some time. Very wide variety of offerings with attentive staff ensuring all trays are constantly filled. This hotel definitely needs a massive makeover but while one may see the glass half empty, you can make also make the case that this hotel is a wonderful "time capsule"
The apartment was spotless and very comfortable. It was very well decorated and had all the amenities you would need. A quiet location with free parking. Located within walking distance to the old city (leaning tower of Pisa). A great location for a family to rest! Excellent service from the hosts, and they even left us a surprise upon our arrival! I would highly recommend staying here, as you won’t be disappointed!!! I give this place a 5 star rating!
The apartment was beautiful, newly renovated and spotlessly clean. Salvatore was really easy to communicate with and met us at the exact time he said he would to show us into the apartment. 10 minute walk to the leaning tower of Pisa in one direction, and 10 mins to the train station in the other direction
Well located hotel about 2 blocks from Leaning Tower of Pisa. Hotel was clean, staff friendly, Breakfast great. Very handy to walk about the city. We requested parking when we booked, and they held a parking place for us. They have limited space. We were grateful for that.
Th location was great, close to the rail station and Leaning Tower of Pisa. There was plenty of restaurants and markets close by. The deli in the hotel was convenient and reasonably priced. I would recommend this hotel Verdi to anyone looking for a great value and location.
The hostess was very kind and helpful. The location was good. A quick 5-7 mins walk to the leaning tower of Pisa. Lotsa eating options near the tower. The location of the apartment was very quite when we stepped out at 9 p.m. to see the tower.
The location cannot be beat, the hotel is literally a minute or so away from the leaning tower of Pisa. The staff, and in particular the receiptionist, Isabella, is phenomenal. Isabella is a credit to the hotel. Room was spacious and clean.
Ervisa was wonderful in helping during our stay! The location is perfect! Balcony and hotel are lovely. See the Leaning Tower of Pisa at night and early morning without the crowds, walk to the river and other points of interest.
A fabulous hotel and only a 5 minute walk to the leaning tower of Pisa along with all the amazing restaurants. The receptionist was so kind and helpful and we highly recommend this place.
Excellent location near the leaning tower of Pisa and for restaurants and shopping. Wonderful hotel staff and nice rooms.
You can book tickets ahead for the Leaning Tower of Pisa - we bought tickets at the booking office to go up the tower for the following day. They are sold in blocks and in August you can book for times running well into the evening (we did 7.30pm) when it is a little cooler!
