Piazza di Spagna
The name might not ring a bell, but this city square contains one of Rome’s most recognizable landmarks. Known in English as the "Spanish Steps," the steep staircase linking Piazza di Spagna to the Trinità dei Monti Church has been immortalized on the big screen in films like "Roman Holiday." Strike a movie star pose on the steps for some memorable vacation photos.

EXCELLENT...an outstanding Piazza with SO much to see!
EXCELLENT...an outstanding Piazza with SO much to see! Crowd gazing and wandering were the order of the day for us. Some really impressive buildings that were well protected by men in uniforms.
Rome is a beautiful city and this Piazza exemplifies this.

The Piazza di Spagna is just below the Spanish Steps (as I'm sure you know), and houses the famous Fontana della Baraccia.
Speaking as a tourist who did a lot of walking in Rome, this is a good place to sit and rest. I asked the nearby policeman, who assured me that it was quite legal to fill up my water bottle from the fountain (and that the water was wholesome and not dangerous).
However, please do NOT try to wash your feet (or other body parts) in the fountain. The locals and police frown on that kind of thing. You will be fined heavily. (I know this probably doesn't need to be said, but some idiots have tried!)
Otherwise, this is a pleasant part of town. For English-speaking bibliophiles, the Anglo-American bookshop is not far from here and also highly recommended.

Early morning or very late will make the journey enjoyable. Better yet, you need to be romantically inclined otherwise you won't see the point of it all. Of late, tourists have been nasty here so off season is the best time to go.

Amazing photo opportunities, don’t engage in conversations with those trying to “give” you anything or ask you where you’re from and you won’t get scammed. Why’s it matter where I’m from ? Mind your business pal. Also you cannot sit on the steps at all or you will be called out by the police on site there. They can fine you but will probably just tell you to get up right away.

Definitely a good value for money! The location is great (by foot 20 mins to piazza di spagna). The room is spacious and you have everything that you need. The staff is very nice and friendly
Emanuele was great! He met us at the apartment when we arrived and oriented us to the neighborhood. About 500 steps in one direction to Piazza del Popolo, and the same in the other direction to the Piazza di Spagna ... the Spanish Steps, a metro station, and a lively area of shops and cafés/restaurants. We stayed only two nights this visit, but are already looking forward to returning for a longer stay.
Clean, comfortable and quiet, near the Piazza di Spagna. An excellent choice for our overnight before returning home. Our host, Carlo, was responsive and helpful.
Excellent location just next to piazza di spagna. The room, amenities, comfort, and cleanliness are all perfect. Best of all is Mr Gerald's unmatched hospitality.
A perfect place to spend a city trip in the heart of Roma; only a few steps from "Piazza di Spagna".
Giancarlo, the owner, is very nice and helpful with explications. The room we had was small but perfectly designed with all commodities you need. I just admired the mix of the old historic building with modern interior design.
There is no 24 hours reception but you feel perfectly secure in this guest house.
Every morning they serve fresh orange juice, good coffee and fresh pastry.
To recommend!
At the hotel, we enjoyed the full breakfast. The location was practical for dining out. Rome is a large city so we used taxi often as we are in our 70's and try to avoid subways.
Visit of the Colosseo and Vatican with their many steps proved to be well worse the fatigue. We particularly enjoyed walking up to the Villa Borghese, then back down toward the Piazza di Spagna. The view from the top of the steps is breathtaking! Plan to arrive there at sunset.
