THE KNOT TOKYO Shinjuku, hotel in Tokyo

Open from August 2018, Hotel The Knot Tokyo Shinjuku provides accommodation in Tokyo. 1.8 km from Meiji Jingu Shrine. Guests can enjoy city views.

Commons area and lounge area were very lively, with plenty of space for people and luggage. Room, bed and bathroom were all clean. Hotel service was very good, towels were changed on a daily basis, and bed sheets were changed out every three days, which did not interfere with any plans. No problems with noise, able to get a good night's sleep. Location was good with plenty of convenience stores and restaurants within a 5-minute walking distance. Bakery and restaurant attached to the commons area was very convenient.

APA Hotel Shinjuku-Kabukicho Tower, hotel in Tokyo

APA Hotel Shinjuku-Kabukicho Tower offers modern accommodation in the bustling Kabukicho area.

The rooms were SO dirty. Dust everywhere, bathroom had mould and dirt on the bath and sink. The pillow smelled SO BAD. Do not stay here if you want to be comfortable or sleep. The noise outside went on until 5AM from the clubs and advertisements. The elevator is so busy at all times and there is no stairs to walk. Staff were very sorry and helpful, I guess they get these complaints all the time.

Shinagawa Prince Hotel, hotel in Tokyo

Boasting 15 food and beverage options, 2 swimming pools, and its own aquarium, Prince Hotel is right next to JR Shinagawa Train Station, from where Haneda Airport is only a 25-minute train ride away.

Amazing location for the train station. Shinagawa train station is much easier to get around than many others in Tokyo. Huge hotel with many places to dine and shop, plus even a bowling alley. Found the food court downstairs opposite the 7/11 which had a good selection of food. Room was a good size for Tokyo. Pillows and bed comfortable. I would stay there again.

FAQs about hotels in Tokyo

See It to Believe It!

The capital of Japan, Tokyo is a vast, teeming metropolis nestled between mountains and Tokyo Bay. It’s so huge that you’ll have to come to grips with public transport and maybe even experience being pushed onto a train. Yes, it does actually happen!

Get your bearings by ascending the Tokyo World Trade Centre near the waterfront, and savour the fantastic views taking in the red-and-white Tokyo Tower and Shinkuju’s skyscrapers. North is Ueno, home to the best museums (including the Tokyo National Museum) and a large park bursting with cherry blossom in spring.

Equally tranquil are the Chiyoda Imperial Palace and Gardens, surrounded by water. Also in gardens is the Meiji Jingu Shinto shrine in Shibuya, a youthful district where neon abounds.

For more traditional Japanese culture, head to Asakusa whose Sensō-ji Buddhist temple is Tokyo’s oldest temple. Markets in the grounds sell a variety of wares, though shopping in Tokyo is, of course, fantastic wherever you go.

Whether you stay in a Japanese ryokan, luxury Tokyo hotel or a hostel, don’t fly out of Tokyo Narita Airport or Haneda Airport without having tried sushi. Another Japanese institution is the sento (public bath) and onsen (hot springs bath) – a must try. Also incredibly popular are Tokyo Disneyland and Tokyo DisneySea, Asia’s 2 most visited theme parks.

It is located very near the Shinjuku New South Gate exit. The Yamamoto line is accessible from there. My husband and I had an easy time going to the tourist spots in Tokyo because of this. The airport limousine also picks up and drops passengers in front of the hotel. So location is perfect. The breakfast buffet is also very good - coffee was good;’tea was plenty. There also very good restaurants near it and not necessarily Japanese. Also Family Mart. All in all, the hotel was perfect for new visitors like us.

I loved the location, it's near two Metro stations that can get you around tokyo. There are also many shops & restaurants around the hotel. It has a local vibe compared to staying in popular areas like Shinjuku or Shibuya. I also sent out my luggage to the airport in advance so having to carry them wasn't a problem. I also loved the staff everyone was really nice and accommodating especially Masuda & Kuroki. The room I booked was perfect for a solo traveler like me and I loved the bed.

This hotel is located in a central part of Shibuya and is easily walkable to Harajuku. It has a "cool" vibe with an Italian restaurant on the main floor and a coffee shop/bar on the ground floor. The staff were helpful when we needed them but generally hands-off as you check-in and check-out on computers in the lobby yourself. Our room was on the 13th floor so we didn't hear any street noise, which was nice. My husband and I enjoyed our stay overall.

Location, location, location! The hotel sits right at the base of Tokyo Tower, with a temple and station right around the corner as well. There is a Lawson in the basement which made it easy to grab quick and cheap snacks throughout the day. Very comfortable king-sized beds (which is hard to find in Japan). Breakfast was good. Hotel staff left a “congratulations” note with chocolate in our room, because it was me and my husbands honeymoon.

We strategically selected this hotel for the first part of our Tokyo trip to explore Team labs and tsukiji market which made it ideal as it was only a short bus ride away. The location was unique as it isnt as busy as Shibuya or Shinjuku which really allowed us to adjust to the hustle and bustle of Tokyo. I also liked the black-out curtains and amenities supplied. Staff were friendly upon check-in.

Compared to hotels in Shinjuku, the value for this property was much higher! I had heard how expensive staying in Shinjuku was, and I was pleasantly surprised to stay in such a spacious and cozy apartment.
