The hotel is excellent both in price and facilities. The hotel has an indoor and outdoor inner onsen (hot bath) facility for men and women in separate rooms. This is a traditional onsen, so you'll have to be completely naked to attend it. The place is far from Gora center but can be accessed by public transport or taxi or car. One way is to use the funicular train, which takes you to Gora downtown, or the cable car station to Togendai (the ship cruise lake Hashi area). We used the bus to get here but decided to use a taxi all around because it was quicker. Use the Go app for that, or use the reservation through hotels and restaurants. The apartment is spacious and includes all amenities like a washing machine and dryer, two toilets, and a traditional Japanese bath. The kitchen is fully equipped if you decide to make your meals. Make sure to buy the groceries in Gora since there is no large grocery shop nearby. There is a small and modest one next to the hotel run by a lady so that you can find some valuable products there, but this is not 7-11 or something like that. Next to the hotel, there is a delicious restaurant named Kazamidori. We liked the food and the family operating it. Another place worth mentioning is the paSeo, which is a few minutes walk from the hotel and serves a tasty breakfast bakery. The staff at the hotel is very friendly and helpful. The title Japanese hospitality deserves its title in this hotel. The hotel has a nice lounge area with vending machines and a massage couch (just one, so make sure to catch a sit when empty). Overall, we liked the hotel. The view is of the forest outside, and no other houses or hotels are in front of you. The staff also helped us receive and send our luggage via the Yamato transport service with no additional fees—very kind of them.

Absolutely beautiful, in a beautiful area. The staff was great and very helpful, check in and check out was smooth and it was a very restful and relaxing stay. The food was great too, I had room service and enjoyed the breakfast as well. I loved the atmosphere the photos do not do it justice.

    The temple is very beautiful; the pirate ships are remarkably kitsch. Don't linger till late if you plan on getting the bus back - the queues were substantial, and the prolonged wait required till after dark to finally get conveyed to Hakone-Yumoto station was bordering on a hypothermic episode. Take some warm gear and be prepared for a considerable delay.

    This is a true gem in Hakone, right on the edge of Lake Ashinoko. You can indulge in breathtaking views of Mt. Fuji — though, as with all things in nature, it depends on the clouds, and you might be lucky enough to catch it in all its glory. The pirate ship terminal is right next to the property, providing easy access to the ropeway. We also enjoyed the Teppanyaki, featuring the best wagyu beef we’ve ever had — and this isn’t our first trip to Japan, so we can confidently say it truly was the best.

    The dinner and breakfast were amazing, always made with locally sourced, seasonally, and fresh ingreidients. Truly a unique experience, the onsens are very peaceful and private. The staff are amazing and will answer any questions or help with any requests you have. Very close to the cable cars to explore the Hakone area and Lake Ashi. Highly recommend this ryokan, especially if this is your first ryokan experience as the staff are very friendly and helpful!

    We loved the location so close to Lake Ashi. The Motohakone port is steps from the house. It's actually the free parking lot used for the property. The house is spacious. Our family could spread out a bit and the futon beds were very comfortable. The kitchen is well stocked and the wifi worked very well.

    Loved this hotel and would recommend it to anyone looking to visit Hakone. Everyone working there is so kind and helpful. We arrived soaking wet from our trip from Tokyo and they offered us towels and tea to sit by the fire and warm up, then kept our bags there until check in time. The breakfast was fabulous, especially enjoying from the view overlooking Lake Ashi in the background. Having the fireplace lit until 10pm was so lovely - lots of guest enjoying the den area together with jazz playing in the background. 10/10 vibes.

    Beautiful self-service hotel on the shores of beautiful lake Ashi in Hakone. We stayed in a two-bedroom suite, with its own sauna and onsen. After days of 20k steps up and down hills and stairs, the relaxation of our private spa was fantastic. We were unlucky with the weather but Hakone and the surround area is fantastic.

    Onsen= Wonderful. Location= beautiful vie to lake Ashi, I can imagine during the month of May and June, more beautiful with flowers from garden, very peaceful to stay at this hotel.     The room was large and spacious with two single beds, a couch table and large tv mounted to the wall. The heater was on before we arrived which made the room nice and warm as it was already 0°c outside as we arrived. The room seems to newly renovated and it was quite nice, the view of Lake Ashi from the balcony was beautiful in the morning with a nice of the Hakone Shrine as well.

    Well-located if you want to be in the Lake Ashi area, with minutes walk to Togendai Station where one can catch the pirate ship and Hakone Ropeway. Delicious breakfasts and dinners. Lovely patio where one can take a soothing foot bath while overlooking the tranquil lake. Very courteous staff.
