If you can only go to Shirakawa-go once, make sure you go in...
If you can only go to Shirakawa-go once, make sure you go in winter when it snows there. Do not go in the heat of summer as you have to walk from one hut to the other under the blazing sun. There is probably no need to stay overnight either. Make sure you buy bus tickets before hand. The Internet booking is hopeless, you need to buy tickets in person.Guest review byEvaNew Zealand

It is also perfectly adorned with just the right amount of decorations. The river running through beside the property was a bonus. Our room was right next to it. It was also a short walking distance to the village. The staff, all family members of the owner, were so wonderful and accommodating.
