The SAVV Hotel gets a 10 on all counts. The staff do their all to make your stay memorable. Facilities: Excellent in all respects, and the whole place is clean as if there was a general inspection. The bed, and rooms are very comfy, and the location is great, as are the views. It's great value for your money. I've already extended my stay.

We had a room in the heritage wing and it was huge. The bathroom is almost as big as some rooms in inner city hotels in e.g., Tokyo. The seating area with the sofa was great for relaxing in the evening. I also liked that we had plenty of water (and other minibar items) everyday, including a newspaper. The breakfast at Sarkies was great; we especially liked the Omelette and Roti station, and also the Kue Talam. Lastly, we mostly stayed at the Heritage Wing pool, which is very scenic, with the ocean on one side and the historic building on the other.

The location was super convenient. It was 5 minutes walk from the ferry port, and around 15 minutes walk to the center of downtown. Super pretty neighborhood. The staff was really nice too. We even asked the kitchen to help cut 2 mangos that we bought, and they cut it up and boxed it. We were super grateful for that and ate it on our train back.

The 88 is on the most beautiful street in Georgetown. It’s very central and a short walk to most of the destinations that you’d want to see in Penang. Our host was extremely helpful and the hotel itself is incredible - a beautifully preserved colonial building.
