This is the oldest Salt mine in Europe. A UNESCO terasure that you must visit if you are clsoe to Wieliczka or Krakow. it is worth the 30-minute trip from Krakow, and the entrance fee (a bit expensive). Make sure you look online when the guided tours are offered in different languages.
Incredible, but over 500 steps, once you start your committed you can’t turn back as the stairs are narrow and many groups behind you. Lots of walking, tour was about 2 miles. Not for young children, no strollers allowed. Worth every step we took!
Allow plenty of time and wear comfortable shoes and a light sweater .the 2 hr tour is plenty .where you start the tour and where the tour ends when you resurvace is in a different spot so can be confusing to get your barings
If you don't go early morning, prepare for a long queuing for tickets and consider the Polish language trip if you aren't too interested in the commentaries. The Polish language queue is much shorter.
Wonderful experience well worth a visit. Not ideal for people with walking difficulties really- steps all the way down to 130 metres, and quite a lot of uneven surfaces to walk on. A lift returns you back to the top though. You have a guide for the whole tour in your selected language which lasted 2 hours.
Liked the nice, friendly, very helpful receptionist. The breakfast buffet had a good selection with enough to please most people, and multiple coffee options. Room was comfortable and clean. Right next door to Wieliczka salt mine.

Apartment nice and clean with free WiFi. We were supprised positively. Kids liked the modern bathroom and balkony. Store with food within 3 minutes of walking. 7 minutes away from Wieliczka Salt mine.
