Beautiful place but Note there was scaffolding up on palace when we were there in peak summer season so a little disappointed they didn’t have a work around for the peak period! It’s chaos hard to get too so do plan or save yourself the heartache & go with an organised tour, expect to be pushed through like cattle! Don’t prepay your tickets for anything else only the Pena is busy so give yourself the flexibility rather then committing beforehand!Guest review byAnnaAustralia - 4.0

Portugal does Disney. The only reason to purchase a Palace ticket is to get into the Chalet. Skip the Palace tour - but cover every inch of the exceptional gardens, they are gobstopping. Very busy.
Very busy. It's accessible only by one bus line, who sometimes is full and does not stop. Garden opens at 9:00 AM. Come early, as the combined ticket for palace and gardens gives you access only at a given hour. Enormous waiting line for the palace. Be present 20 minutes before the designated time.
