The forest itself is not bad, but from an Unesco site I would have expected more. There is not that much to see. The view point at the shelter is nothing special. The cost is high (almost 20 eur per person the entrance + 10 eur the guide). The guided tour was nice but they don’t have too much to say and they stay with you just for the first 500 meters. It takes one hour time due to explainations. We didn’t see any fauna if not a couple of snails
This is the best tourist attraction on the island of Praslin. Here is the home of the erotic fruit the Coco de Mer. It has beautiful walking trails in the tropical forests, giving you an idea what the island must have been like before humans came along.
Beautiful quiet and full of lush green tropical plants and wild life. Pay 200 rupees for a guide as it helps to give you an insight into the coco de Mer trees and the kinds of animals and birds to look out for . Visit the little cafe for banana milkshake afterwards and the waterfall which is about 500 m down the hill on the left outside the valley. It is easy to catch a bus here.
