Hire your own boat. It's cheap at €20 per hour and €10 for every hour after that. It only takes you 10-15 mins to get to the island. It's not everyone's cup of tea to row so you do have the option of going over on the Pento. It's really beautiful with lovely views. You can ring the church bell which is fun too.
It’s worth rowing yourself to the island - it was an easy crossing and you can spend as long as you want when you get there. We had cake for a late breakfast (it gets busy around 10am) then went up the clock tower and looked around the small church before having ice creams and a walk around the island. There isn’t a lot to do here but if your happy enjoying the beauty of the island and the surrounding scenery then the row is well worth it!
if you take the boat by the rowing club they row you over in approx 10 minutes but you only get 45 minutes to explore. If you row yourself from the other side of the lake it takes approx 30-45 minutes but you can sty as long as you like.
Bad value. As it is winter limited choices on how to get there. Winter brochure stated 12 euros per person but everyone on boat was charged 14 euros. There is nothing to really see or do unless you want to spend another 6 euros to ring the bell in the church. There is a gift and coffee shop which is where we ended up spending most of the 30 minutes and spending money again. The 'boat boy' was extremely opinionated and sarcastic. No safety measures on the boat. Not regulated and concern for safety if accident happens.
The church and the clock tower were lovely. The clock tower was a lovely surprise for me. The stairway was underlit, and carvings in the steps just glowed. There were meditations along the wall on the way up and I really appreciated the calmness. Don't forget to go into the church and ring the bell! The merry sound resonates all around the island, and it said to grant the ringer a wish. The acoustics of the church are wonderful for signing too.
Take the traditional pletna boat rowed by stand up boatmen (a bit like a double oar gondola) for a peaceful journey and excellent photo opportunities. The island itself is a bit of a disappointment and the extra 6 euro to get into the church and tower not worth it.

The house and room were super cute, in a perfect location with an amazing view. They also had boats you could rent (1st hour free for guests!) to row out to the Bled island. The parking was easy because she sent clear instructions before hand and there were reserved spots. I couldn’t have asked for anything nicer.
