Bourbon Street is for sure an interesting place, and it is also extremely crowded and noisy. I am not sure how anybody can keep up a normal conversation while walking down the street. There are basically all types of music played, maybe 4 or 5, individuals or group, on both sides of a the same sidewalk.
Also just about everybody warns tourists of unsafe the street is as soon as the sun is down--which in winter means past 5PM. We did not experience , nor did we see/witness any criminal activity, though. Police is there too, watching, on street corners.

Whatever you do, if you decide to bring children to NOLA, especially children that are still in strollers, do not take a child's stroller to Bourbon street, especially at night. I wouldn't say it's dangerous, but rather really not appropriate for kids to be on Bourbon street and there is often very loud music playing from the bars and street performers that might be tough on little ears. Plus, there are usually some people that are very intoxicated walking around and do you want that around your child(ren)?

This is my second time here on Bourbon St first time was in the mid of the pandemic. The second time was nothing like the first time. There was so many people having a good time drinking dancing and just talking loud. I loved every minute of it

Although the French Quarter is interesting, Bourbon Street is a mess. It is dirty and smells terrible and worse than many of the Third World Countries I have visited. Even a police officer I talked to recommended avoiding Bourbon Street.
The French Quarter has some of the best food I have ever eaten and street performers are great but stay away from Bourbon Street.

It’s good to walk along there and people watch, it’s mainly drunk tourists but fun to watch the guys working on the street trying to hustle as well, there’s some real characters. Plenty more great places to visit in the city though

Please be prepared to pay at least $25 per day for parking. Get a hotel close to wear you'll be touring and walk each day. Everything is in walking distance which is good for site seeing and waking off all of that deliciousness.

The location was great! Walking distance to canal road and Bourbon Street. The apartment was super clean and had all the facilities like utensils required for cooking light meals. We loved it. The view was also great.
The location was convenient, but still removed enough that it was quite. We were within easy walking distance of Bourbon Street and there was a nice bar right across the street from the hotel.
Fantastic hotel located in the heart of everything you want to do. It is part of the Bonvoy family, so has all the upper-level amenities such as well-trained high-service staff, key coded elevators, business area, huge fitness, great outdoor space, bar, restaurant and very helpful staff. The room was perfect, it was steps to all the tram and bus lines, or a short walk to Bourbon street, Riverside walk and all the stores, restaurants and night life you could want, with the extra benefit of being quiet. Would definitely pick again.
I love New Orleans and this was the first time I had been back since before the pandemic. The Valentino group, which owns another lovely vintage property I've stayed at always comes across with a pleasant stay. Another thing about this particular hotel is that it's close to Bourbon Street, but it wasn't too loud!
The location is great! Walk out, 20 meters and you are in the heart of Bourbon Street. Short walk to the things you want to see when you are in NOLA. We had a small issue with our first room, and they were very quick to get us another room. The rooms were very clean. Air conditioning worked great. Rooms were mid-sized and comfortable. The overall look of the hotel was very "New Orleans". I would stay here again.
Loved most of the staff. Very polite. Place was very organized. Walking distance close to everything. Bourbon Street is about 6 blocks away. There is a small outlet mall where you can buy clothing and pick up fast foods. And if you are Cruising from New Orleans you can walk to the cruise port from this hotel. Its abt 3 long blocks away.
This is our go-to hotel when we are in New Orleans. The staff are always helpful and the rooms are always clean and comfortable. We like this location because it is close to Bourbon Street as well as local flare...like museums, dining and shopping. We stayed here for Mardi Gras this year and loved the convenience to the parades and the ease with which we were able to come and go.
Everything was wonderful from the breakfast to the courtesy dinner/drinks. The location was perfect and walking distance to bourbon street and many other places. I will most definitely book this hotel my next visit to New Orleans.
Best quiet location away from the noisy Bourbon Street, best staff who were very friendly and went above and beyond to ensure we were comfortable. The Hotel has great breakfast which changes every day. Very nice pool and inviting courtyard for that evening relaxation. Definitely this is the place I will stay at next time I go to New Orleans.
We spent four nights at the Hotel St. Pierre. The two best things about the hotel are the location and the staff. It’s on the edge of the French Quarter and is in easy walking distance of Bourbon Street and many of the major sights in New Orleans. The staff is fantastic. They are extremely friendly and helpful. The room was clean and comfortable.

What Guests Said About Bourbon Street:

If you are looking to avoid crowds, its tough. Find restaurants off the beaten track and at different times than are typical eating times. Avoid Bourbon street at night on the weekend, more of a crowd drinking scene anyway so if crowds aren't your thing, not really where you should be looking. The fact is that it is a popular place so it is tough to miss people, but strike out on your own and explore and there are some great things to see.
