    A must do activity.

A must do activity. We walked from our hotel in Waikiki there and up and back and it was about a 12pm trip. You’ll need to pre-book a spot which is USD$5 p/person which can be done online. There are refill spots for water, and take sunscreen.

I loved Diamond Head hiking in the past....but this time we found it can't be hiked without an advance reservation. I certainly understand why because the crowds need to be managed, but we were disappointed we couldn't take our grandson there because we couldn't get a reservation that day and it was the only day we had to do it.

Good day out - nice walk up the top and great views.

Good day out - nice walk up the top and great views. Lots of wildlife (mostly birds) to see. Easy to access via bus from Waikiki. Take water with you, there are refreshments at the bottom, but not once you have started the walk up.

Just fyi...I did the Diamond Head hike.

Just fyi...I did the Diamond Head hike. I read up on it wrong, so you have an option to go through a tunnel or there are stairs on your left. I tried the tunnel, the people infront of me stopped, people who were hiking down were coming through. I could not see the end of the tunnel, plus it was getting warm...it was like 6:40am. I get anxious in closed in spaces...I turned around and did not finish, since I did not know about the stairs!!!! So please be prepared, go early, take your time!!!
