Great place to shop, just be prepared for overcrowded shops, loud voices and lots of bartering. Make sure the items you purchased are the exact items that go into your carry bag. Have had a couple of 'switcheroos' previously when I wasn't properly looking 😀
Walking distance crom the center of Saigon where a lot of plush hotels ard. Cheap prices of a lot of commodities, mostly original ones from popular brands. Just watch out for the pricing. If shirts go beyond 100VND, think twice already!
Come here on a hungry stomach and try out all the specialties the food court has to offer. Some of the best traditional vietnamese food and foodstalls are indeed found here, with a number of the stalls having been around for at least a few decades. If you're craving some sweets, try some of the vietnamese sweet soups and dessert at Bé Chè. Try the bún suông if you're into noodle soups. There's also bánh ướt and gỏi cuốn for something less heat-inducing. You can also buy a variety of vietnamese agricultural produce here, most notably coffee. But I would say only do so if you're a little more confident of your bargaining skills. The snacks are also great; you can try the products before buying.
Markets in Vietnam are an experience unto themselves. This is a great little market with a LOT of stuff. People will try hustle you into buying stuff and you can haggle, within reason. If you're being unreasonable they'll say so, and if they're being unreasonable you can simply walk away and it seems that everyone agrees that it's no hard feelings. A great place to get your touristy souvenirs.
The prices were fixed and reasonable and products sold are good quality. There are varied products sold so everything is available clothes, souvenir etc. the place is clean and the people are helpful and accepts dollars as payment but exchange rate is lower than the currency exchange market.
May only be of interest if you are from the West. If you are from South East Asia (SEA), its nothing that you do not have back home. Be prepared to be charged twice as much for most of your purchases. If you do not enjoy bargaining, it's a place you may want to skip. All branded products sold here are fakes.
District 1, Ho Chi Minh City
This is a cozy family home that has everything you need. Don't expect anything too fancy though. As a solo travel who usually stays at hostels, it was nice to have a private room and not have to shell out for a hotel. The hosts are so friendly and offer free dinner every evening. The WiFi here was better than at most hotels I've stayed at. Bathroom was shared but was always empty. The private room also locks. Everything I could ask for! Location was phenomenal beside the walking street and Ben Thanh market.
Very good location, near Ben Thanh market and Nguyen Hue walking street. I do like the breakfast and the staff who served and prepared it, huge thanks for the restaurant staff and the receptionist who are very lovely and accommodating. The rooms and the hotel are very clean and cozy I would choose to upgrade to the rooms with the balcony next time, I would definitely recommend to stay at this hotel if you wish to be around the central area in Ho Chi Minh city
The value of money is worth the price of the hotel. Very clean room and Bathroom Walking distant going to Ben Thanh Market, Saigon Square and Takashimaya Mall but you can take the taxi if you want with a fare of less than 30,0000 Vietnamese Dong You can explore the Bui Vien Street Market at Night. A lot of restaurants and street foods around. Thanks to Mr. Hat, he is approachable and was able to answer our queries.
Great location and very close to the main shopping areas such as Ben Thanh Market, Saigon Sqaure and Saigon Mall. Clean rooms and bathrooms. Absolute value for money As we had a late night flight, staff was kind enough to allow us to leave luggage at the hotel after check out and use the roof top facility to freshen up before leaving to the airport.
This is my first choice hotel in Saigon. The hotel is located next to Ben Thanh market and in a not very crowded street. The hotel staff is nice and friendly, they changed the room for us immediately after hearing that some guests on the same floor made lots of noise at night. We spent 5 nights in the hotel and enjoyed our stay. Will stay again.
The hotel is located in a good location of district 1, excellent breakfast, hotel staffs are very friendly and helpful, especially the bell boy name Hao always ready to help guests, nice view of the river, close to restaurants, shops, Ben Thanh market, Nguyen Hue Street night walk, all within walking distant.
Our love hotel's prime location near Ben Thanh Market ensures that you're just a short walk away from the vibrant street food stalls, shopping, and cultural experiences that the market has to offer. You won't have to worry about transportation, making it easy to explore the city at your leisure.
The location is quite good, easy to access to Ben Thanh market, walking street, ... I arrived in the midnight due to my late flight but the hotel was still open. The room was good enough for reasonable price. There are some bars, clubs but the noise didn't bother either.
I had a wonderful experience here. The staff are super polite and helpful. From the hotel you can walk around to visit famous destinations, many mega malls for shopping. We also took mido luxury spa near Ben Thanh market for the massage and it is totally worth it.
Great hotel for the price. In a great location near Nguyen Hue walking street and Ben Thanh market. The free breakfast was full. Staff very friendly and helpful. Room and bathroom clean.
If you decide to go to the Ben Thanh market, be prepared to have you bargaining hat on. Everyone is friendly but there's a lot of grabbing and there is no air conditioning so it can be a bit overwhelming. Be comfortable with the currency conversion too so you can definitely grab some real bargains on souvenirs to take home; especially things like coffee and decorative lanterns and furniture. Opposite the Ben Thanh market and opposite the HCMC Fine Arts Museum is a brilliant street to buy antiques.
Great choice at Ben Thanh market and higher end arts and crafts stores.
Eat where the locals eat. Get out of District 1. If you want to stay within District 1, check out restaurants behind Ben Thanh Market that display their menu with prices in front of their restaurants.
