**Romance Valley, Sri Lanka – A Peaceful Escape in the Hills** Romance Valley is a privately owned and run gem tucked away in the misty hills of Sri Lanka. From the moment we arrived, we were greeted by cool, cloudy weather and stunning natural beauty. The nearby waterfall and tea farms added to the charm of the location. Our room offered a spectacular L-shaped panoramic view of the valley, complete with a cozy patio that had plenty of 3-pin plug points—super handy. While the WiFi was decent for basic browsing, it’s not ideal for streaming, so it's best to download anything you need in advance. Meals were a highlight—privately booked and freshly prepared by Chef Kumar and his team. They catered to all our dietary needs and made each meal feel home-cooked and special. There’s plenty to explore on foot in and around the property, and surprisingly, we didn’t encounter any mosquitoes. That said, we still recommend carrying OFF! mosquito spray—just to be safe. Before we headed to the nearby waterfall, Chef Kumar even gave us a saltwater spray to keep the leeches away. Thoughtful touches like that made the stay even more memorable. When it’s time to head back to the city, we suggest using the Pick Me app to easily book a car or tuk-tuk. Highly recommended for a quiet, nature-filled getaway with personalized care.

This was our favourite stay in the hill country. It is tucked away in nature and is extremely peaceful and very very comfortable. Lots of animals around and a stream accessible via the main property. The host Chamila and his team really made our stay. They prepared our favourite meals in Sri Lanka for dinner and breakfast and the portions are extremely generous. Communication with Chamila was excellent and we felt taken care of right from when we made the booking. Chamila gave us lots of info about the area and what to see nearby, along with helping answer any questions we had about Sri Lanka. I hope to be able to visit again soon!

I like everything about Tantra Lodge, everything was perfect as I saw online. It is a beautiful little oasis surrounded by trees full of wonderful wildlife. This place is also only a very short walk from Ella town, it is convenient for restaurants. Supermarket, shops and all the local must see attractions such as “9 Arches Bridge’ and ‘Little Adams Peak’ etc and many stunning hikes. It was so central here, I walked everywhere. My host Anjalo was the kindest, most thoughtful and best host in Ella, he went above & beyond to make sure I had a comfortable stay. He had much information to share and was always available when I needed him. My room was cosy, bright and modern, with a big & very comfortable bed, I had lovely private bathroom and shower. It was super clean and tidy. I also had access to a gorgeous & peaceful balcony space outside my room, where I often took rest and read or wrote. I loved everything about this homestay, it was home away from home.

The location is amazing,fantastic view of the bridge,worth all the money! The hosts were superb and very welcoming. You can walk to 9 arches bridge only take 10-15 mins. The bed was comfortable.We had a great stay!

The place is in a rather unique location, not easily accessed, but grants a great view. The room has a comfortable terrace with a kitchenette, which could be great for long stays - ask the host about the gas stove though. A lot of nature around. Great breakfast, efficient communication on WhatsApp.

Wow! An oasis just 20 minutes outside of Ella. I would recommend this beautiful accommodation to anyone, espically if you need some peace & rest. Everything was perfect- comfortable bed, clean, hot water, clean spring water that comes out of the taps, delicious home cook meals & a stunning view. The host is so loving and really does everything with his heart, he is so kind and generous. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for all your help & for making me feel so welcomed. I will truly miss this place.

Very nice location, outside area is the best. Food fresh prepared, nice decorated, very short tuktuk ride from ella center and main sights. Property can arrange all that and will wait for you at the station.
