The place exceeded our expectations! In the middle of the jungle, surrounded by nature, great pool to chill out in the heat, wonderful host, we were concerned by the distance from the city at the beginning but you can eat lunch and dinner in the place, and do not need to go to the city. For extra money of course but very good food.

An outdoor swimming pool with views of the river can be enjoyed in Wasai Puerto Maldonado Eco Lodge, 328 feet from the Main Square. Canoe trips can be booked and all rooms feature views of the river.

I loved that they make an effort to be eco friendly and that it’s far away from other lodges and the city. The cabins are beautifully kept.

Emanuel, Marisela and family do an amazing job of keeping their property in top shape and making everything easy for guests, including booking any number of tours. They prepare delicious organic meals up to 3x per day (we usually had 2), and hook you up with whatever transportation needs you have to/from town or airport (each is about 10-15 mins; not far). The newness of the property combined with the family's attention to details of the modern day traveler (fridge, wifi, shower, drinking water) made our visit super easy, and we speak little Spanish, and some other guests spoke none. Our T-Mobile cell coverage also worked just fine.
