Big blue Ulysses butterflies fluttered amongst the flowers, a cassowary visited at breakfast time. A wonderful bathroom! Friendly owners with great tips for our Daintree sojourn; they even organised wildlife activities.

The lodge offers a barbecue. The common space was great with lots of seating and interesting books about Australian animals and plants. Good kitchen facilities with all you may need, as well as decently priced meals and coffees for purchase at their cafe that looked and smelled good. The sleeping facilities were also very spacious and comfortable, being right in the rainforest, immersed in nature was my favourite part!

This lodge will provide guests with a flat-screen TV, a patio, a seating area and a CD player. The kitchenette has a fridge, a microwave and a toaster and there is shower with free toiletries and a hairdryer. We loved the tropical forest that surrounds Gunnadoo Hut and the wonderful views from the deck. It was so scenic and peaceful. It was great to relax in the jacuzzi at the end of the day. The accommodation was very cosy and welcoming with nice decor and the outdoor barbeque area was well-equipped. The owner, Gigi, was very friendly and advised us to back into the driveway to the Hut. The driveway was steep as advised by Gigi, so you need an SUV with AWD or a 4WD with low range.

Both WiFi and private parking are accessible at the lodge free of charge. Wonderful stay. Greg cooked us a dinner which made me re-think if I was in my granny’s house. Extraordinary location. Greg has everything you need. Pool table, interesting stories, cold beers and delicious food. Absolutely intend to go back someday. Energy comes from solar and batteries, fully renewable. It is a place I’d fully recommend 10/10 stay for all ages and interests.
