We had a great time at the camp at night with Andi telling us stories. They were really listening to what we wanted to do and adapted the pace for us.

We did the two days one night trekking with Jerry, Rudy & Abdi. The guides are very funny, knowledgeable about everything and Abdi’s food was amazing! The trekking was tough but we had so much fun and saw many orangutans and other animals. Unforgettable experience and definitely one of the highlights of our trip to Indonesia! After the trekking we spent another night at the Garden Inn and did the village tour with Pindu, perfect way to learn more about the local community! He also let us make our own tempeh and gado gado, which was a lot of fun. If you are planning to visit Bukit Lawang, we would recommend to book everything with the Garden Inn team. I also booked jungle and orangutan trekking with them which was brilliant. The whole team (but particularly Yusup and Geng) made me feel very welcome, went above and beyond for me to get the most out of my experience and tailored the trek to my preferences. Thoroughly recommend 👍🏽

We were treated like family at on the rocks, wawan and his team were so helpful and friendly that we instantly felt at home. I cannot recommend staying here enough. We did multiple treks with Wong and he was wonderful, so much information to share but also never even felt like he was a guide. Treks can be suited for your fitness level but you are almost guaranteed to see orangutans no matter where you go. The restaurant was also delicious.

The owner is a very kind elementary school teacher who lives near the homestay with his family. I stayed in one of the cabins and enjoyed the cleanliness, the hot water in the shower, the excellent WiFi, the exceptional view from the back porch, and the incredible hospitality of the whole family.

I am actually so impress with Padang's people hospitality. They are so welcoming its makes me feel so bad😅😅. The room is nice and the environment is very peaceful. The food ia good. Tea and coffee served in the cafe is sooo good I forgot to ask and buy some to take home.
