A ski pass sales point, ski-to-door access and ski storage space are all provided at K・Lodge, and guests can go skiing in the surroundings. It was very clean and well maintained, the bedding was super comfortable and the air conditioning really helped cool down the summer heat. We were there for Fuji Rock and the location is really great for getting the shuttle bus to the venue and back. The lodge even offered a free service back to the station the day after the festival. Staff were super friendly and helpful too.

An à la carte, continental or vegetarian breakfast is available at the property. At the lodge you will find a restaurant serving French, Mediterranean and Australian cuisine. Vegetarian, dairy-free and halal options can also be requested. The staff are all awesome and they care deeply about the Forest Lodge and their guest experience! The rooms are wonderful, the common areas are super comfortable, with an updated but traditional feel. Beautiful drying room and tuning area in the basement, and everyone is there to ski/ride so you'll get solid tips. They're happy to give you a lift to/from the resort if you don't have a car. The view from the private onsen was really wonderful. Recommended in Myoko!

Situated in Myoko, Myoko Ski Lodge in Akakura Village features mountain views and free WiFi, 34 km from Zenkoji Temple and 36 km from Nagano Station.

Myoko Ski Lodge in Akakura Village offers 1-star accommodation with a hot spring bath. I’d offer an 11th star if Booking.com would let me. The Myoko Ski Lodge is perfectly located and a lovely residence, but the hosts – Geoff and Tania – are what made this a truly amazing trip for us. This was our first time skiing in Japan, and we could not have picked a better spot to stay. It’s walkable to an Akakura Onsen chairlift as well as the free shuttle stop that can take you to Akakura Kanko. The hosts helped us with transport and gear rental on our first day, allowing us to hit the slopes quickly and easily. They also helped the two non-skiers in our group set up interesting activities for the week. Our rooms were very comfortable for our family of five, breakfast was plentiful, and the onsen (natural hot springs) on the first floor were the perfect way to end a day of skiing. The town is lovely, not too big, not too small, and plenty of easy dining options. We were a tiny bit leery of the shared spaces when we booked (as we treasure our privacy), but I’m convinced this is THE way to go for a ski vacation. We made some great friends on the trip and it was so nice to hang out around the fire and share stories over a drink or two with other guests. The kids had a blast and we all enjoyed playing games in the play area/den. It truly felt like a home away from home. I thought a Japan ski trip might be a one-time experience, but I’m convinced that THIS is the way to ski – zero lines, great snow, good food, small town (non-commercialized) feel, onsens, and hosts who seemingly live to share this great experience with their guests. We will be back for sure!
