Von Otterska Villan is a heritage-listed 1870s building, 150 metres from Gränna village. It offers a private, self-catering apartment with a balcony overlooking Lake Vättern. WiFi and parking are... it was magic! Cosy, very lovely prepared and a bit like a time-journey in the 19th century.

This family-owned hotel in Visby’s attractive Almedalen Park is 30 metres from the Baltic Sea. It offers free Wi-Fi, along with tastefully and individually decorated rooms. I must admit that, having made a booking for a stay at Villa Alma, I ended up being forced to cancel it at the last minute for unforeseen reasons. Under the reservation terms, I would still be required to bear a full charge - but the utterly courteous and understanding manner in which the property handled my request to waive that charge is by itself deserving of all praise. I will most certainly try to come and visit at a later date and will recommend the property to other people as well.

This early 1800s castle is 10 minutes’ drive from Västervik. It offers fine dining, free spa access and a private beach. All rooms include free Wi-Fi and a flat-screen TV. Everything was superb. The best spa we have ever used. Dinner excellent. Room fabulous with amazing view. Comfy bed and quiet rooms. Staff on reception made us so welcome and attended to our every need. Compliments to Jamie in restaurant and Veronica at reception.
