Fabulous hotel in an excellent location on the waterfront. Very expensive, as you would expect, but a wonderful rooftop pool, and lots of restaurants within walking distance. First-rate valet parking (around €10 a day).

Athens Marriott Hotel is located on the busy Syngrou Avenue, opposite the Stavros Niarchos Foundation Cultural Center and within a 15-minute drive from Syntagma Square. It was very clean and tidy. It was extremely hot outside so they kept the air conditioner at a nice temperature. The hotel was about 10 minutes from city centre. Which equated to about €10-12. On the weekday they offer a free shuttle bus but we stayed on the weekend so unfortunately didn’t get to enjoy this. But nice to know they have it. The breakfast was pretty good. A ton of varieties of food. Tons of fruit options. They have coffee and teas but I didn’t know you could request a coffee like a mocha or something. But apparently that is an option. The beds were extremely big and comfy. We got a premium delux room with a shower no bath. Very comfortable. We also had an issue when we arrived into our room with our air conditioner. It wasn’t working at all so they immediately called their technician to look at it and he fixed it immediately. Also we had a late flight so we asked if we could have a late check out and the staff were very kind to give us an extra couple hours on our last day which helped us out tremendously. Such a nice group of staff very welcoming and accommodating and Very responsive staff!
