AustriaThis Hotel is in the middle of Atami. Good walking distance to the beach and also the city center. The most impressive was the Ryokan Breakfast in the room and the Ryokan dinner. The Dinner in my opinion is a MUST !!!!!!! The Onsen was also very relaxing.

CanadaQuiet, serene and restful after a busy 3-weeks of touring. The view of the bay and surrounding forest was calming and beautiful. In the morning the birdsong was lively and delightful. The meals were outstanding! The best experience of our trip ( and we had many excellent meals). The presentation was lovely and the staff was attentive and helpful. We wish we could have stayed longer.

United StatesThis place is phenomenal and you really get a sense of Atami being here. The home is so nice and is just a short walk away from good food spots, too. The host is so warm and welcoming, very friendly and helpful. We were so happy with our stay here and would love to return in the future! Actually, on our entire vacation of 3 weeks, this has been the best place we’ve stayed in, lodging wise and city wise. We LOVED being in Atami and this lovely home!

The facilities were excellent, the staff efficient, courteous and helpful. The ocean view from the room and the onsen or hot springs bath was great. The variety and quality of meat, fish and vegetables offered at dinner and breakfast buffet were excellent.

Food, staff, and location. The hotel is not far from the JR station, and it is convenient for people not driving. Staff is nice and attentive to detail. The food, especially the grilled fish, is delicious. This boutique hotel is valued for money given that two private onsen rooms are offered for all guests. I highly recommend this place for people who look for a quiet and relaxing onsen trip.

Furuya Ryokan was a traditional Japanese ryokan and it was absolutely amazing. The rooms with private onsen baths were incredible - they were huge, traditional, and the baths were amazing. The kaiseki dinners and breakfasts were some of the best meals I have ever eaten. The staff of the ryokan were fantastic across the board, from the check-in desk to the attendant for our room who served all of the meals (and was very patient with a group of 5 American tourists, only one of whom spoke Japanese).

Even though the facilities seems dated, the place was kept very clean. Hot spring faucet (80 degree celcius) in the bathtub was a plus. I loved the tatami portion of the room and the balcony with an ocean view. The receptionists were all very nice and helpful. We were able to leave our luggage there for a few hours after checking out.

We loved everything about it. Super comfortable and accomodating staff. The outdoor onsen was phenomenal, the shared onsen was very clean and really relaxing. And being served food in the room was a fantastic experience and properly authentic.
