Authentic feel of the place and the food, the onsen was also wonderful. Everything was clean, and the traditional beds on the floor were surprisingly comfortable.

We loved staying at Hanaori, one of the best accommodations we've had so far! We opted for the Japanese-style room with an ofuro on the balcony, and it was wonderful. We couldn't wait to return to the hotel and relax there after a long day of walking. We didn't even want to leave the room. The breakfast and dinner are very generous, with varied and delicious options. We will definitely stay there again! Thank you all for your attention and care in every detail :)

Hakone Airu features air-conditioned rooms with satellite flat-screen TV in the Hakone Yumoto Onsen district of Hakone. If you're looking for a relaxing place to stay in Japan and take in some mountain views while appreciating the restorative effects of an onsen bath and trying some of the best food we had while in the country, then look no further. Our entire experience, since going in through the door, was nothing short of exceptional. The staff were very helpful and friendly, and made us feel welcome from the start. We really recommend you make your way to the bar, we had a lot of fun learning about drinks and places to check out when we returned to Tokyo. The room was exceptional and the mountain view was breathtaking. The star of the show, besides the exquisite kaiseki dinner and traditional breakfast, has to be the onsen. The experience of relaxing in the warm waters while watching the fog settle over the mountainside is unforgetable. It is also very easy to get there from the train station at Hakone-Yumoto, as there are very well signaled bus routes that stop conveniently at the door of this ryokan. A final note of thanks to the staff of Hakone Airu for making our honeymoon stay perfect and magical. We will most definitely return!

Kusatsu Onsen Eidaya is located in Kusatsu. The property is a 10-minute walk from Kusatsu Yubatake and Kusatsu-Onsen Bus Terminal. It is a Japanese style inn with retro vibes. Their private onsen's water comes from the very hot spring source of Kusatsu and therefore you can experience the hot spring water without going to the public baths if you are shy. We mostly used them at night when the town's baths are closed since the inn's are 24/7 open. I would recommend to book a japanese style room as it has it's tatami and according decoration and together with the inn's yukata (there is an opt for a colorful one and geta to rent) it gives a more japanese experience. We liked that the inn had slippers for going outside which was convenient as the whole town is full with onsens (even ones that are only for feet) and therefore is more convenient to move in slippers. They have a game area with a lot of retro game (even arcade games) and Nintendo SFC System Video Game Console in the rooms. It may not be in the centre of the town (around 10 min walk for either yubatake or Sainokawara Park and open onsen) but is very close to it and also they offer pick up/drop off from the bus terminal. Staff were very friendly and helped with everything we needed. In our next visit to Kusatsu we are definitely staying there!
