Built in 1722, Okyakuya is situated in the historical district of Kurokawa Onsen district. Located only 100 metres from Kurokawa Onsen, Free WiFi is provided and private parking is available on site. Cannot recommend this ryokan enough. Amazing service, clean rooms, and one of the best service from the staff in my experience (all were exceptionally friendly and helpful). Great attention to detail as well (left our shoes by the heater so when we checked out our feet were nice and warm). The food is also another highlight. Dinner and breakfast were absolutely delicious. If you’re not a fan of horse sashimi, do not worry, the taste is not strong. Light enough for you to try something new and finish the portion. Onsens were also great. I love how they swap female and male baths depending on the time of day so you can try all they have to offer. There’s also two private baths as well for couples who want to go together. Place is also tattoo friendly (my husband had on his shoulder but it was not brought up). Thanks for an amazing stay!

Kurokawa Onsen Yama no Yado Shinmeikan features 5 hot-spring baths, including a 30-metre long cave bath. wonderful experience. everything done to make our stay more comfortable. Food fantastic

Located in the centre of Kurokawa Onsen, Oyado Noshiyu offers outdoor and indoor hot-spring baths, Japanese-style accommodations and a traditional teahouse. Beautiful Japanese ryokan with amazing Onsen hot springs. The staff presented us with incredible hospitality, a true ryokan experience. The room was large, clean and very comfortable. The included dinner and breakfast were unique and excellent, mainly consisting of traditional local cuisine that enhanced our overall express. One of the best highlights of our Japan trip!

Located in Minami Aso in the Kumamoto Region, 10 km from Naka-dake, Hotel Yumeshizuku boasts a hot spring bath and sauna. Each room at this hotel is air conditioned and features a flat-screen TV. Boasting various indoor and open-air hot spring baths, Fumoto Ryokan offers traditional Japanese-style accommodation with a historic charm. It is surrounded by serene greenery next to a river. Private, traditional, clean. Perfect service. Fumoto Ryokan always cater to our needs even before our arrival. Most of their onsen are private rooms so it is very nice for small groups like us who appreciate getting our own space. One of the highlight would be the meals, loved everything they serve here, they also have selections of beers and other alcohol, try their local beers! They are also strategically located in the center of Kurokawa so it is easy to explore the town.
