Located in Nikko, 18 km from Tobu Nikko Station, K's House Nikko - Kinugawa Onsen Hostel provides accommodation with a shared lounge, free private parking and a terrace. This is a newly opened K's House hostel, I guess there are a few other K's House hostels around Japan. The property itself was immaculate! Huge common area, very large and nice kitchen, an outdoor terrance overlooking a river down below, and onsite Onsen (both indoor and outdoor!). The lady working reception was incredible. She was very helpful with an foot injury I had and I don't know what I would on done without her help. Hostel is immaculate! It takes about 45 minutes by subway or bus to the actual town of Nikko. If you plan on visiting Tobu World Square or any of the hiking/waterfalls north of the town, it is perfect! You get a real mountain town feel being outside of the city center.

The Ritz-Carlton, Nikko features restaurants, fitness centre, a lobby lounge bar and shared lounge in Nikko situated by Lake Chuzenji and overlooking Mount Nantai. We had the most wonderful time at the hotel! Staff were very professional and welcoming, breakfast was outstanding, the whole stay very relaxing! Onsent was incredible. The hotel is located by beautiful lake, great for walks and long runs!

Itamuro Onsen Daikokuya offers a sauna and free private parking, and is within 42 km of Shirakawa Station and 43 km of Komine Castle. Traditional and super well maintained traditional Japanese house, rooms really big hard to find in Japan maintaining the traditional style. Clean, so pretty the garden next to the river with all the birds you can imagine and the food was delicious and really traditional too, reach in protein! The outside Onsen was incredibly beautiful too and the bus literally drops you off right in front of the hotel entrance. Lastly, the hosts were so welcoming and nice.

Established in 1666, Honke Bankyu is housed in a registered historical building. The Japanese rooms feature traditional decor, futon bedding and a flat-screen TV. The character of the building, the exquisite dinner and trip across the bridge, the beautiful onsen.

About a 20-minute walk from the Nikko shrines, Annex Turtle Hotori-An is situated next to the Daiya river and green forests. It features hot spring baths with river views. Clean, very well located next to the main attractions of the town. Also the onsen was essentially private and you can use it only for 30 mins since other guests will use it too.

Situated in Nikko, 21 km from Tobu Nikko Station, Wa no oto 和の音交流館 鬼怒川宿 features accommodation with free WiFi and free private parking. Close proximity to kinugawa onsen station (<5 min walk), Lawson directly across from hotel, and close to points of interest. Genuinely lovely and helpful staff who can speak English. Easy check in. Spacious rooms for affordable price. And the onsen was clean, large, and had all the amenities you could need. Had it all to myself both times at 9pm, and 7am.
