We ended up here as we wanted someplace near the airport that had parking. They turned out to have a small garage within the bulding, which we could use, but I don't know if it would be a problem it there were more guest. Lots of street parking outside - my guess it is would be safe, but I don't really know. Guidebooks suggest El Alto may not be all that safe and the area nearby is certainly not fancy, but we walked to/from the nearby purple line teleferico (5 blocks) in the dark early evening and felt fine about it. So it was easy to get down to the tourist-friendly area of La Paz. The room was clean and comfortable and warm, and there was hot water in the shower, though as often seems to be the case, no shower curtain. Room is small but not a problem for our one-night stay. We were able to pay by credit card though the staff seemed somewhat unfamiliar with operating the machine.

La Casa de Teresita is a tranquil retreat with a lovely garden in a nice neighborhood of La Paz. The view from the gardens over the city and mountains in the background is amazing! It is so peaceful there, and everyone is so kind, helpful, and friendly. The tour of the main house is really neat to see all of the history of Bolivia and the family who owns the house. It is easy to step out the door to grab a taxi and go 10 minutes to the historic center, or just stay and enjoy the grounds and the neighborhood it is in. There are plenty of restaurants nearby to choose from all within a 10 minute stroll. The breakfast is tasty, the shower is strong and hot, the beds are comfortable, and the rooms are large with plenty of counter space and closet space to keep things organized. We loved our stay here and look forward to another visit!
