You are located about 5 mins walk from the beach. There are a number of shops and restaurants, although they aren't open as long or late as busier towns in the area. It's fairly easy to get to the much busier Puerto Viejo (12k away and taxis can be arranged) if you want something more lively in the evening, but this place is lovely and relaxed. A real local vibe. Air conditioning was effective, and much needed in the two-bedroom suite on the lower level that we were assigned. The private kitchen area included a full size refrigerator, microwave, toaster oven and coffee maker which were appreciated, along with the kitchen utensils.
