The hotel is beautifully designed with an elegant aesthetic combining soft earthy colors, high end textiles (curtains, upholstery, linens) with modern lighting in a historic building. The breakfast was very generous including all sorts of yogurts, fruit, muesli and granola as well as a full hot breakfast. I had poached eggs on avocado toast which was delicious.

On arrival we were upgraded to a junior suite, which was a lovely surprise. Room was in a separate annex to the hotel called the Coach House so was very private. Very comfortable bed and day bed to relax on during the day. Selection of teas and coffee pods and bottle of water which were replenished each day. Ate in the hotel restaurant which was very nice. Village was very quaint, with a few local amenities. Used the local pub too where everyone was friendly. Good for dog walkers as your four legged friends were very welcome. Good walk along the cotswold way from the property.

Everything was great, to be honest. The breakfast was very good, staff was very friendly. Comfortable and big room. Beautiful small town, that you can explore walking. We had dinner twice at the pub and food and environment was lovely. We would repeat for sure!

You can tell a lot of pride goes into the presentation and cleanliness of the apartment. It was spotless and well thought out. The apartment feels very private, quiet and peaceful and the bed, pillows and bedding were very comfy. It was spot on for our one night stay with our dogs and would have happily stayed longer! 🙂

Just perfect! Such a gorgeous and well appointed premises in a former judges lodgings (you could have imagined it must have been in the past during the trading and sailing days belonged to a wealthy sea merchant) located 10 minute walk to the Docklands with its own private grounds with secure parking and access via an electric gate. Parking overall in the surrounding areas is P&D, expensive and very limited free. The property is ideally located for exploring the beautiful renovated and historical disused Docks (more leisure) and branching out to surrounding areas, such as the Cotswolds and Tewkesbury which we visited! Our number 8 apartment facing the beautiful park and bowling greens had the added bonus of its own balcony which was perfect for sitting out in the glorious sunshine opening a bottle of wine before getting ready and going back out for evening dinner in one of the many restaurants situated in the Docklands (we ate at Bills and the Trattoria Settebello fine Italian dining and one night in the nearby Indian restaurant called the Aroma, don't miss out especially if you like your Indian food, stunning to say the least. On our first night we ate at Greek on The Docks. Personally, not impressed so far as Greeks go not authentic enough for my liking. Oh yes, of course the local 'upmarket' Wetherspoons situated on the docks for cheap booze and food should you prefer - tastefully converted dock engine/pump house. The Lodgings was extremely well equipped with all the comforts of home especially if you want to cater for yourself, with tastefully decorated and somewhat quirky furniture all in good fun and spotlessly clean bedding and toiletries etc. The bed by the way is one of the most comfortable I have slept in for ages. Our host and owner Charles was always at the end of the phone should you encounter any issues (we didn't but leading up to arrival clear and concise messages were received).

The location was fantastic to walk to everything. Great having the car park behind the Inn (as parking is hard to get in Painswick). And amazing food in the restaurant. We upgraded to a suite - highly recommend it - overlooking the church.

The breakfast was excellent and being offered a box to take away what we didn’t eat was a lovely touch. We really enjoyed both meals we had in the restaurant. The room was quirky, comfortable and warm. All the staff we met were friendly and helpful. The location in Painswick was ideal and free car parking was a very short walk away across the church yard.

Very friendly staff and excellent service and food at breakfast and for dinner in the restaurant. Convenient location with free parking close by, in a beautiful well kept village. Room was clean and comfortable with good quality furnishings and a great shower. The communal fridge had plenty of water and fresh milk and was very hygiene conscious.

The continental breakfast was substantial and the take away box was a great idea for carrying a little extra for the day. The Indian room was quirky but very comfortable and lovely. The area around the B&B was a quaint little area of Painswick… great for a wander. Parking was free in the village car park and close to St Michaels Bistro. Don’t park under the trees … the birds obviously have superglue as part of their diet.

We had the Bohemian Suite on the top floor of the building which had a lovely view of the church yard. Our room which was quirkily furnished was clean and spacious as was the bathroom which had both a bath and shower. The bed was comfortable however a bit low for me and the room was quite dark. St Michael’s Bistro is basically a restaurant with rooms above accessed via a back alley. Parking was in a free public car park a short walk away.
