Mountain Nest was by far my fav accommodation in Guatemala. Thank you Darina and Remy for your hospitality, yummy meals, chocolate tour, creativity in setting up the cabin and sharing your slice of heaven with me. For those who enjoy solitude, nature, introspection, where you can build a connection with yourself or a loved one above the clouds - this place is for you. The room was big, with an amazing bed and pillows. The breakfast included was delicious. The pool looked a bit dirty, but they said it was because of the season. The location it is a bit far from the main town Lanquin, which is not so pretty. It is a place to go to relax just in the hotel. You can visit the Semuc Champey reserve and enjoy the natural pools, which were amazing.

For us it was perfect. We stayed in a private room with private bathroom. You’re not paying high prices, so don’t expect a lot of amenities. It’s rustic and simple, but the property is beautiful and tranquil, surrounded by trees, along the river, with hammocks to lounge in. It’s also less than a ten minute walk to Semuc Champey. Can’t beat that! Levin was great. He took care of our requests and answered our questions and we felt very comfortable.

    We had a really big room which could have hosted up to 8 people (we were 4) and there was still a lot of extra space. Location is good on the street leading to Semuc Champey. They offer tours but they take the whole day and we needed to leave in the early afternoon. Pool looked nice, restaurant was good. Parking was easy.

    Nice place out on the road to Semuc Champey, they will come pick you up at the car park where the shuttle buses stop in Lanquin(people from all the hostels and hotels are waiting there to pick up their guests). About a 40 minute steep walk down (then back up) from Semuc Champey, don't worry if you don't want to walk back, there's plenty of vehicles there to give you a lift. Friendly staff and pretty decent food available. They can also book your onwards shuttle here.

    Nice bar area, with ok food for low prices. You can book Semuc Champey tour at reception (incl lunchbox). After I sent a message about my arrival, they sent someone to pick me up from the shuttle parking, no charge.
