Location. Quiet, pleasant area. Secure parking. Accessible. Host helpful and friendly.Near a town, Candela , good for a walkabout, to visit and good restaurants.

We had a wonderful stay at Antica Masseria Il Cansone. Rosfavata was the perfect host—warm, welcoming, and responsive. Upon our arrival, she greeted us with spumante and appetizers, which we enjoyed while taking in the stunning landscape and the most breathtaking double rainbow I’ve ever seen. She also shared excellent restaurant recommendations, where we enjoyed delicious meals featuring local fare. A surprise highlight of our trip was a personalized walking tour of Candela with a local guide, Benito. The picturesque views, historic architecture, and fascinating stories made for a truly memorable day exploring this charming Italian village. Two days very well spent. Grazie mille!

For us the location was excellent and very convenient to walk (up!) to the center of town, with many cafes / bars and restaurants. Arriving there by train, we were happy that Alfonso could pick us up as there are limited to no alternative transportation options. Being there to do genealogical research (grandfather and great grandparents all born there). The cemetery was a bit of a walk in the heat but helped to burn off some of those pizza calories. Alfonso and his brother were excellent hosts and responsive to our needs. Morning breakfast included choice of coffee (americano, capuccino and espresso. ) and wide assortment of packaged pastries. We can highly recommend the pizza restaurant Nap'licchie where we ate almost every night with excellent pizza and house wine for a unexpectedly low price. The room was much bigger than we anticipated and had windows opening to a gorgeous view of the country side. There was a small balcony to step out on but a little small to sit. It even included clothes lines so we could do our laundry in a typical Italian fashion. (Opera singing optional :) We didn't discover it till almost at the end of our stay, but there is a small, but well stocked grocery store right across from Bar Central on the Main Street. More convenient the Spar which is down the hill and was closed when we tried to go. As you probably know, Candela is a hill town, so you should be prepared for walking up and down many stairs. Not really wheelchair friendly. We spent a week there and loved it, especially hearing the chimes of the church every fifteen minutes, which can be heard throughout the town including at Villa Genny. Many houses, built of stones, including my grandfather's birth house, are from the 1800s. Be sure to check out the church (the oldest in town) at the top of the hill (stairs!!!). Great view from there. Explore and have fun! Don't forget to stop for gelato.

The high quality of everything and brand modernization of the interior of the building. Fantastic bed and shower, exceptional cleanliness, beautiful breakfast area, high end food,drinks, amenities, and especially the warmth and helpfulness of Signora Donatella. The facility was as nice as any place we've stayed, with wonderful views across the rolling surrounding hillsides and a real sense of peace which is what we were seeking.The Palazzo is in the process of adding a quality boutique spa downstairs from the existing BnB facilities, and if the rest of the interior design is as tastefully done as the rooms, etc it will be exceptional. Rochetta SanAntonio is a small but interesting and peaceful historic hill town with amazing views, two castles, and two excellent restaurants within a 5-minute walk. We wished we could have stayed longer.

The host stated No Breakfast in the booking but included some crisp breads, cookies, tea and coffee, milk and fruit juice in the fridge. The room was all shades of white, clean and elegant, included a kitchenette, and utensils etc Most of all I complement the host and his son on providing excellent service and going beyond what is expected. They picked me up from the cafe where I was resting, they took me to the room, helped me with my back pack, offered me a tour of the town. It was exceptional.

Amazing location! Stunning views and fantastic, friendly service. It’s like Turscany but without the crowds. If you have a chance to spend a night in this gorgeous hilltop historic town, then take it.
