The property is a traditional Japanese extensive farmhouse part of which is a cozy, private modern apartment. It is located on a quiet lane in a small village that is a convenient base for seeing many temples and experiencing lovely hikes as well as for visiting cities like Kyoto, Nara, and Osaka. It is a ten minute walk to the Miminashi train station for the Kintetsu Line. The owners are warm and very welcoming, multilingual, and knowledgeable about places of interest nearby. We stayed six days and felt very much at home in a beautiful area of Japan.

A very quant and cozy guesthouse. The host was very kind and accommodating. He made sure I was comfortable with everything throughout my stay and even provided a detailed map of things to see (and where to see cherry blossoms). It was a very clean guesthouse with a comfortable common area and well equipped kitchen. The bathrooms were clean and the shower was perfect - probably my favorite part. The water pressure was so nice. An extra is that your towels are replaced daily. I will definitely stay here again on my next trip to Kyoto. Oh, and the zen garden was very peaceful and added to the atmosphere in the common area. Great stay!

This apartment really takes me back... it's basically a repurposed 1R (one room) type of apartment, with a tiny kitchenette and a tiny unit bath, in a very old building with thin walls. Basically it's a place that would be typically rented by a poor college student or a young adult. In this case however it was turned into a hostel-like accommodation, and honestly it works well as such. The apartment had everything we needed, including the microwave, electric kettle and some dishes. The place was taken care of well. The futons even had an electric blanket, so we did not get cold during chilly nights.

From the moment I met the first staff everyone was extremely warm and welcoming and their service is on par, if not surpasses 5-star hotels, they are incredibly warm, attentive and informative. The room was very very clean and arranged very beautifully and the view was amazing. During dinner, the staff were very helpful in explaining what the dishes were and how to eat them as I was new to the experience. If you like culture, food and incrediblely great service, this is the place for you. I had no complaints. Although this area is best to visit in Autumn, even in spring there is a lot to see. I was unfortunately a bit too early to see all the sakura bloom nearby, but there was a lot nearby to explore and see still. You can easily explore the nearby city Asuka from here as well.

The owner was awesome - picked us up and dropped us at the train, gave a tour of the soy production and was an overall nice guy. Beautiful setting. Room was a really cool renovation and layout - and very clean.

    The room was clean with enough place to park the car and you can take a bath, which is very cool !! There's enough hot water for one bath apparently. The staff was very nice : someone in our group lost an item there but they diligently sent it back to us with no charge ! Thanks again for everything :)
