There are many restaurants nearby so you definitely don't have to worry about food. The staff was super friendly and helpful, and even when we were still at the carpark, he dashed out to direct us to the available parking lot every time we drove in. The room is also big and spacious, and it has the Japanese element to it, which I truly like, and breakfast spread was good too! The location is good with easy access to ski areas (both working and abandoned:), the Nasu highlands were within an hour's drive and Kinugawa onsen was even closer.
