Everything! The atmosphere was magical — peaceful, authentic, and deeply connected to the history of Nara. The staff were incredibly kind and attentive. The traditional dinner and breakfast were exquisite, beautifully presented and full of flavor. The location is perfect — walking distance to Nara Park and temples, yet quiet and serene. If we could give Hariko (a Nara native) and Dane (from Washington State) a 100 ⭐s we would! Great location within a 10 minute walk to the train station that will connect you to many wonderful places. The accommodations are comfortable and public spaces inviting. Be sure to include breakfast - while a continental breakfast is available the traditional Japanese (our choice) was tasty and filling.

Gorgeous authentic old Japanese house very well located in the heart of Nara and very close from shops and key locations (in a calm street). The house is beautiful, very big and has everything needed for a short or a long and comfortable stay! Everything is very clean, facilities are convenient and well equipped. The owner is very kind and helpful, great communication and warm welcome! So far my best booking on this app and my favorite place to stay in Japan, I 100% recommend it!

A very comfortable tatami-mat room with a deep full soak tub. The location in regards to Nara Park was fantastic and I had a wonderful view of Tōdai-ji in the mornings. Things were very quiet, the staff went above and beyond to make sure my stay was everything it could be including walking me through all the amenities they had to offer. They also provided local area maps with all the main attractions and let me know how best to navigate what I wanted to do which helped quite a bit with planning how I spent my time.
