We initially planned for a one-night stay, but extended it to 3 days, making this place the highlight of our Sri Lanka trip. The food, crafted by the owner, an exceptional chef, was outstanding, with a new daily menu based on the freshest market ingredients. Access to a pristine beach, often all to ourselves, offered unforgettable views. Comfortable rooms, excellent facilities, and the AC provided a reprieve from the heat. Generous hosts Thibal, Tatiana, and Charlotte catered to our needs, offering fresh fruit plates and complimentary drinks throughout our stay.

Saman was a wonderful host in a very special place. We absolutely loved the chalet and it's setting with a wealth of bird life to watch from the verandah. It was lovely to have our own kitchen but then also to have the opportunity to have an evening meal cooked by his next door neighbour which was very delicious. The other fabulous thing was it's location looking out over the bird sanctuary and couldn't have been better placed for the early morning boat paddled bird watching trip on the lagoon which was out of this world.

This is a real gem. Absolutely amazing experience. We were upgraded to the “serenity” room. The views are simply breathtaking, and you feel immediately relaxed in this villa. The staff is very friendly, and the food is delicious. I was taken to safe swimming bay shielded by the rocks that is a one-minute walk away from the villa. We wanted to taste some Sri Lankan food and were treated to a treated to a wonderful meal served by the ocean, lit by lanterns and a bonfire. The room was spacious, very comfortable and offers great views. There are plenty of actives on offer which we really hoped had more time to enjoy. We really loved the late afternoon kayak ride in the lake in front, and even had a go at the archery target with bows and arrows. I assume kids would love the badminton courts and the mini kids playground. The next day morning I opted to go for a spa treatment in the rooftop café, and was one of the most energising body treatments I have had.

The room was spacious and beautifully designed, with a large bathroom that added to the comfort of our stay. It started when we arrived and were already awaited and greeted by manager John and his girlfriend Adele with big smiles :) They were so very helpful and nice throughout our stay and made the experience perfect. John always had tips for us about where to go and was always available when we had any questions. We were staying in one of their two villas, and it was so nice to have our own living room with comfy couch and even small kitchen with two fridges for drinks. The villas are the most set back from the front of the property and offer perfect privacy if that's what you want. Everything was super clean and nicely furnished - we felt very comfortable. The terrace with lounge chair and sitting area with coffee table was ideal for having a morning coffee and just enjoy the sounds of nature. The staff! Nuan and Ruzindu (I hope I wrote the names correctly) were the two waiters in the restaurant, and they both did a great job. While I do not remember the chef's name, I need to mention him and the kitchen staff as well, because the food there was some of the best we had during our stay in Sri Lanka. Also, Tila, who takes care of the cleaning and gardens, together with another man, whose name I unfortunately can't remember, where truly warm and kind to us and always passed by our villa for a chat whenever they passed. The staff, together with John and Adele made the stay there to what it was - PERFECT! The property itself is simply beautiful: Laid out very well with lush greenery and nicely done paths throughout, there are 5 rooms in total - 2 villas and 3 bungalows. The hotel was planned and designed very thoughtfully and you feel the emphasis on the detail there. It sits on a beautiful stretch of beach, which is always empty and you can walk for miles in any direction. The sea was not swimmable while we were there due to the strong waves, but it was still beautiful just to look at it and enjoy the views.

We stayed at the hotel for 2 weeks. Very nice large rooms, large balcony. The second floor has a high ceiling. Very tasty breakfasts. For dinner we had the best rockfish I had ever eaten. Everything in the hotel was of high quality - mattress, linen, towels. Excellent hot water pressure. The hotel was in a quiet location. One beach was a 5 minute walk, the other was in 10 minutes. The beaches are picturesque, huge, empty. One morning we walked several kilometers and met 3 persons. We saw many traces of large sea turtles. They crawl out of the sea at night and lay eggs at Rekawa beach. Swimming here is difficult because of the waves, but it is possible in small bays behind the rocks. Every day we met peacocks, monitor lizards, and monkeys. We were very grateful to Gintare and Chamy for their hospitality. Thanks to them, my birthday with cake and balloons was wonderful. They were always ready to help with any question. We hope to come here next year. I highly recommend this hotel to everyone who loves silence and nature!
