It had it's own sauna, which was great to use after a long day of hiking while enjoying the beautiful mountain panorama. The staff was very helpful and super kind with everything. On some days we had breakfast and dinner in the hotel's restaurant, and the food was really good, the breakfast was plenty. Parking was not a problem, the wifi was also working very well. The town is a super nice place, too. We recieved Lungau cards in the hotel after checking in, which we used to discover the area basically for free. Great for family trips!

The hotel is rebuilt from an old family house. It has amazing views of the Hohenwerfen Castle - both day and night. The rooms are clean and spacious and very nicely decorated. The bathroom was large. Chocolates were presented in the rooms. We were greeted upon arrival with a very fine glass of wine and a nice conversation with the owner. The atmosphere was homey and welcoming. The breakfast was one of the tastiest and freshest breakfasts of any we've experienced in our many travels. Highly highly recommended.

Family-run since 1654, Hotel-Gasthof Maria Plain enjoys a quiet location surrounded by meadows and forests, only 250 metres from the pilgrimage church of Maria Plain and a 10-minute drive from Salzburg. Free WiFi is available. The property and views are stunning. Our room was so cute and the pictures do not do it justice! Large room with beautiful windows that open, lovely restaurant and the grounds are wonderful for taking walks. Just below the property (about a 12 minute walk down the hill) is a little restaurant that had delicious soup and yummy coffee and croissants. A field next to it was filled with sheep and horses and a friendly cat. Breakfast was out of this world…The whole trip was magical for my daughter and I!
