The wildlife is amazing, particularly the birds. I saw dozens of species, just walking around, including many humming birds, tanegers, and a white hawk. I also spotted a family of agouti. When the weather clears there is also a view of the volcano.

I wanted accommodation were we could see plenty of wildlife and be surrounded by nature. Arenal Observatory Lodge exceeded out expectations. We saw beautiful birds everywhere along with other wildlife. We considered the drive back to La Fortuna to be relatively easy, so did not mind that it was a little bit out of the way. Excellent breakfast and very accommodating and friendly staff. Highly recommend that horse trek here as well.
