We were very well received by our hosts. They don't have electrical power, so they use solar panels to provide their guests with electricity and warm water, because of this we felt very lucky and welcome there, since they don't even have a fridge, so they can provide this to their guests. The food is also incredible and they serve very well, with great breakfast. They also were able to provide us transfer and a guide to climb the volcano, who was very kind and help us a lot. We recommend this place if you plan to climb the volcano.

Ciza and Rose have built a house where a few basic but characteristic rooms face an internal place where breakfast and dinner are served. The place is simple but very clean and perfect for a few nights in an unbelievable place. You will get to know how these proud and strong people rebuilt their village after the last eruption (2014) and how they make their life there. Rose will guide you to the top of pico de fogo if you like, or he will organize a tour for you. He can recommend a wine testing close by. The wine is produced in fogo and it’s good!!! Go! You cannot regret!

Marisa is really helpful, she organized all of the activities we had (which were great - wine tasting and going up the Vulcano) and the price-quality relation is extraordinary. Thanks for everything

Situated in Portela, TCHAN LOVe features accommodation with seating area. This property offers access to a terrace and free private parking. The rooms include a balcony with views of the mountain. Superb place to stay in the village of Cha das Caldeiras. The guesthouse is relatively new and taken well care of. The facilities are clean and comfortable. Friendly staff. Convenient location just at the beginning of the hike to Pico. There is a hotel bar and restaurant on site with reasonable prices for water and drinks (indeed the same price as in the shop across the street). Do yourself a favor and arrange the food at the restaurant before you arrive, as the food here is absolutely delicious! Also possible to buy a packed sandwich for the early morning hike to the Pico, and perhaps have the breakfast packed (actually not much difference as the breakfast is bread, cheese, boiled egg and some fruits). Would not hesitate to stay here again.
