The resort offers free WiFi in the lobby. We are group that was travelling around in Europe before reaching Egypt and Marsa Alam was our first destination in Egypt. Gemma resort set the bar high to our expectations for the rest of the trip and an extraordinary example for Egyptian hospitality. Everything in the hotel was perfect. The rooms spacious and cleans, pools clean and in different locations and beaches were amazing with great snorkeling spots. I can not speak enough about the food, no moment in the day where food is not served and in different cuisines with amazing quality. The most interesting part to me thing is that everyone is assuring you are having good time in your stay and I literally mean EVERYONE. Whether it is Mr Mahmoud, Hazem and Mohamed on the front desk or Atef and Abdo on the pool and the beach or Chef Mohamed Salah in the kitchen, every single one of these gentlemen made sure that our stay was comfortable and did not hesitate to provide the required assistance.

All air-conditioned rooms at Elphistone feature a balcony overlooking the Red Sea and the pool. Each offers a satellite TV, a minibar and a desk. A shower and a bath are fitted in the bathroom. This large resort is 30 minutes from Marsa Alam airport. It served the best food I’ve ever had in Egypt during many years of travel there. One evening there was a superb filet mignon. The restaurant service team is really attentive and polite. The gardens are also really beautiful and continuously tended to. The resort has four pools, one is a quiet adult-only pool and another is heated which was nice now in the colder off season. The resort is not sheltered by wind as much, so very windy conditions result in a red flag requiring guests to stay inside the reef which still lets you swim in the ocean in the shallow. There was some animation by the pool and beach area, however finishing at a 11pmish at the latest.

Not only is the hotel resort absolutely beautiful and so well maintained. It's got brilliant facilities. However the best thing about the hotel is the staff. The staff are the best we've ever had at any place we've ever stayed. Mohammed was our room cleaner and he was just brilliant. We loved eating at the Mediterranean restaurant because of the staff who just go above and beyond to make sure you have everything you need. Not only that you can really get to know people and hear about their families and see pictures of their kids. Abdo and the other waiting staff have become our friends. The food was amazing! Everything was delicious and there's such a range to choose from. Mustafa messaged us everyday with details about what was on and we chatted about any needs and he checked in on us every day to make sure that we had everything we need and there was no problems. He even booked us in to gorgeous VIP meals at the different restaurants. When we arrived we were surprised with an upgrade to a sea view which was fantastic. We could hear the sea all night. The facility staff and the people who do the different activities were really friendly and chatty as welll. There was no pressure they just asked and if you wanted to have a chat that was fine.we met Temur who was doing the photography and I would thoroughly recommend going with him. We went scuba diving and that was brilliant and they organised it so well. My son had a really good haircut at the spa and the facilities there are really great and very affordable. Every time you sit down somewhere someone will bring you a cocktail which are delicious and there's food available all over the resort. Even when the weather was a bit cloudy there was plenty to do . We had come from Edinburgh and we were the only British people I think at the hotel which was perfect for us.

They truly make you feel like you’re at home with all the personalised attention. The drinks are amazing! The food is spectacular! Fresh honeycomb at breakfast! The animation staff is wonderful, so friendly and the fire show is spectacular! There is a Bedouin tent on the beach with a wonderful set up for the shishas. The staff again so friendly and warm, making it such a wonderful experience. Absolute best experience I’ve ever had at a resort

It is one of the best hotels in Egypt. Friendly staff, great location, modern design, great facilities, wonderful beach. We’ve got room upgrade for free, welcome fruits and bar filled with refreshing drinks in both rooms we’ve booked. Our flight landed early in the morning and we’ve received early check in, which was really convenient after long way to Egypt( we’ve spent in total 24 hours to get from home to the hotel). The rooms were really very clean, spacious, very light and with all the necessary facilities. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Just one day in the morning we had to ask for drinks 3 times and waited for them more than 20 minutes. But this incident hasn’t spoiled our vacations. The food in the main restaurant was really delicious. Everything tasted perfectly. Thanks for this to all the cooks. Also drinks we ordered in the bars were of good quality. We visited fish a la carte restaurant -the girl in the reception Mira refused to book one more a la carte restaurant though during our check in we were informed that we may visit two a la carte restaurants. The atmosphere in fish restaurant was really great as well as service. Free transfer to and from the airport was very helpful. The van was clean and comfortable, the driver was pleasant and helpful. We had early check out due to early flight and missed the breakfast. If the hotel organized breakfast to go it would be great but we didn’t get it. Despite some small issues I would definitely come back to this hotel once more. Hope to do it in autumn.

Facilities were great - pool area, also for kids and the beach everything we needed. It was the perfect place for relaxed vacation.
