Set in Seaham, 600 metres from Seaham Beach, No.16 has a garden, parking on-site and rooms with free WiFi access. Was a bit dubious when I booked as it seemed such a cheap price... but was actually a really great place. Parking outside, big room with lovely modern bathroom and really close to the beach and cafes.

In the heart of the historic market town of Barnard Castle, The Three Horseshoes Hotel is a 17th century building less than a mile from the River Tees. We had a GREAT overnight stay at the Three Horse Shoes Hotel - although we actually stayed across the road in their annex - The Stables. Everything was modern, new and perfect. Fully Equipped kitchen, huge comfy bed, washing machine and drying rack with portable heaters, plenty of room to spread out, and security for our touring bicycles. They even included a cooked breakfast for us the next morning - which was unexpected given that we had a kitchen - and it was a great start to our day. We'd certainly stay here again.

Boasting a garden and views of garden, Unbox at Poplar Tree is a recently renovated holiday home situated in Durham, 14 km from Lumley Castle. James was extremely polite and helpful through the whole stay. Went above and beyond to make us feel welcomed.

Offering garden views, Hidden beauty in peaceful place is an accommodation set in Peterlee, 25 km from Lumley Castle and 32 km from Beamish Museum. Great place for family or small group of friends to stay. Location fantastic for exploring the surrounding area. House was clean , spacious and the the arrival freebies were a real bonus. Would thoroughly recommend this house.

Offering inner courtyard views, Rooms in historic Bishop Auckland is an accommodation set in Bishop Auckland, 30 km from Lumley Castle and 40 km from Beamish Museum. Everything was very clean and comfortable. The host was a very friendly and nice person. I felt very homely.

Situated in Tow Law in the Durham region, Large countryside home has a terrace. Both free WiFi and parking on-site are accessible at the holiday home free of charge. Excellent host, nothing was too much trouble.. House was scrupulously clean with many thoughtful unexpected extras. Every effort had been made to meet our dietary needs and the food hamper which was very much appreciated. Good selection of tourist information, places to dine and the books provided on local history were very interesting. All together, we had an exceptionally great break. We would have liked to extend our stay. Look forward to returning again in the future. Thank you Erica and Jason's for your hospitality and kindness. We felt that we arrived as strangers but left as friends.
