Really lovely, modern, tranquil hotel - good decoration, kind of a cool "Bali" vibe with concrete, wood and good design. Amazing views of quiet rice paddy fields. Communal area and restaurant is a nice place to hang out in the evenings. Staff are friendly and helpful - and should you need help with planning amazing local guidance for tours/visits to funeral ceremonies and grave sites etc. with excellent knowledge, then ask for Rashid who can help you plan both guides and driver. We went out with Yohannes (guide) and Mingu (driver) and we had such a lovely few days with them; they went above and beyond to make sure we saw everything we wanted and more and were so knowledgeable in sharing information about the local traditions and culture. Highly educational and lovely!

The room is comfortable, breakfast is wonderful, the shared bathroom is no problem as only shared with one other room. We rented a moto and had fun seeing the places recommended. Shower was hot. But the star is your host - extremely helpful and caring. He even got my partner a birthday cake for his birthday, and picked us up from the bus station! He is a guide and loves to share his knowledge

No book nor improvised guide will be able to explain you such a complex culture in details. Hendrik (the owner) organized everything for us, being a Toraja himself, he took us on a tour of the traditional villages, while giving us tons of information about their rituals, beliefs, and social structure. We've also been lucky enough to witness a traditional Toraja funeral, an experience I'll never forget. This has been the most interesting (and true) experience we had during the entire trip in Indonesia, no tourist traps, no fake shows mocking Indonesian traditions. For a brief moment, we've been part of an ancient and beautiful culture, wish i could have stayed longer. Recommended 10/10

The accommodation is allergy-free. loved everything about this place - it is not fancy, but it is very clean and the Hostess is fantastic. we arrived late and she made dinner for us when we got there. The traditional meal she cooked the next day was also great, chicken in bamboo. There is a full bathroom outside the house with a hot water shower, western toilet and two sinks - very clean. The traditional house would not be able to accommodate a bathroom in the building itself. This is an experience to stay in real Toraja house - it is not a fancy hotel - but it is great!!
