Loved the private onsen. The location of the hotel was very central. The staff was polite. Their was Netflix on the tv and a private room wifi.

Experiencing a Ryokan was amazing and Onyado Yuinosho is the perfect place for it, the staff is incredibly nice and accomodating, the food is incredible, the rooms and facilities are so fancy and pretty and atmosphere is so relaxed and cozy! They give you all sorts of amenities, they have free ramen at night, coffee, yogurt drinks and they even leave local candy to try inside the room! They also have vending machines for soft drinks/coffee/tea and alcohol! The meals they serve are extremely tasty and fancy with beautiful window views of the mountains! The private onsen rooms are beatiful and relaxing! The two nights we spent there were the highlight of our trip! Absolutely must recommend this place if you plan to visit Shirakawa-go!

Effective October 1, 2025, a lodging tax will be introduced by ordinance of Takayama City. In addition to the room charge, 100 yen per person per day will be charged. The location is 10mins walk from the train and bus station. The facility is very clean, and they have lot of common space (check bottom and top floor) available if you choose a dormitory bed or small room. I stayed in a single small room and I had a balcony view. The staff is very helpful, and they try their best to keep the space comfortable. You will have to take out your shoes and there is ample number of sleepers available. Every floor has a coin laundary available. They have huge common washbasin sinks to do your business. The common washroom cleanliness was satisfactory. I have no complaints from my three nights stay here.

Ryokan Asunaro: A Traditional Japanese Inn in Takayama. Nestled just a 6-minute walk from Takayama Station and the Nohi Bus Center, Ryokan Asunaro offers an authentic Japanese inn experience. 旅馆虽然不大，但是非常漂亮，具有传统日式风格，每一处的设计和摆设都很养眼，房间舒服，服务细致周到，温泉虽然不大，但水温很好，很舒服，不行走到古街也不远，沿途很多餐饮和商店，离高山车站不远，很方便。

The room was great, quite a typical ryokan room but it also had a bath in the room which is not something you find everywhere. The location was perfect, just a short walk from the station which was important because we had quite a bit of luggage, and one of the main reasons I picked it. It was also a convenient walk to the rest of the town and the morning market. The staff were friendly and helped us with the evening meals around at nearby restaurants. We also enjoyed the hotel breakfast on our last day which for us was a local selection that includes their famous hida beef. It was quite a big breakfast and very delicious.
