We arrived early for our check in after walking from JR Nikko Station which was 2 kilometer's uphill and thankfully we were offered a room straight away. The staff were very friendly & accommodating. The spaciousness and layout of our room was amazing.

The breakfast was pre-ordered and limited to 6 items per person (including infant). The atmosphere was really cosy and welcoming, it was great to have a common lounge to relax and 2 individual bathhouses for utilisation. There are some beverages and access to microwaves, oven, hot water flask in the lounge. Also, it is great that it had a small children section with suitable furniture. You can ask for the shuttle to a nearby restaurant but you will need to make your own way back. The bed and breakfast owner's family are staying in-house. So the owner is always readily available when called.

It's a pleasure to talk to him, ask him about your plans or ask him to book a restaurant or call remote onsen. He recommended us the best restaurant for dinner we have ever had in Japan. It's just a 10-minute walk. What a treat. The room is in an older house, which is the traditional Japanese house. You share a bathroom and toilet with other guests (max 4 people share this, so that is fine). The room is great, spacious, and the air conditioning works superb. We came by car, but the host is willing to pick you up and drive you to your next destination. The host speaks English very well. I highly recommend this accommodation.

1.3 km from Tobu Nikko Station in Nikko, Rakuten STAY VILLA Nikko features accommodation with access to a sauna and hot spring bath. we cook our own BF , the location is the best if you are driving there, many free car park space there.

Located in Nikko, 800 metres from Nikko Toshogu Shrine, Nikko Nishimachi Club provides accommodation with a terrace, free private parking and a restaurant. Location is perfect to explore the temples and to be in a more quiet area, still with shops very near. The staff is so amazing and kind. The rooms are neat and very spacious. The onsen on every floor is a treat with good amenities. This a hotel that I totally stay again!

Situated in Nikko, 1 km from Nikko Toshogu Shrine, Shinkyo Inn features accommodation with a terrace, free private parking, a restaurant and a bar. The room and location were excellent with beautiful views and made it so easy to explore the temples complex as well as catch buses for further afield. Mark and Hisako were absolutely lovely hosts and had some excellent recommendations for us both food and activity wise! The included breakfast was delicious, and it was also great to have the ability to come back to the little restaurant in the evening. I could not recommend a place more than Shinkyo Inn.

Situated in Nikko in the Tochigi region, with Tobu Nikko Station and Nikko Station nearby, Nikko Cottage Yurt features accommodation with free WiFi and free private parking. The Yurt is a uniquely modern Japanese accommodation with beautiful timber interiors and details, including a gorgeous table made from 400 year old wood. A very cosy and homely feel. The host was welcoming on arrival and left some yummy cakes for us to enjoy for dessert.
