The 高野山 宿坊 西禅院 -Koyasan Shukubo Saizenin- features luggage storage and free parking. It was my most extraordinery accomocation in Japan. We spent here 2 nights in the 2 room family suite with own bathroom. We used the small onsen on the groundfoor as well. (The tattoos was not problem there.) The vegan breakfasts and dinners were very delicious (even my son said, that it was great. 😀) The staff can speak quite good in english. The morning ceremony is a must, you can feel the peace in your heart. We took a walk in the sourrounding temples, cementary and in the mountains. This place is like an other world. I wish if all the world would be the same. Thank you for all!

A 1000 year-old Buddhist temple, Shukubo Koya-san Eko-in offers Japanese-style accommodation, a beautiful garden and free WiFi. Guests are free to attend Buddhist morning services, the Goma fire ritual and meditation. The location, room, garden has awesome atmosphere- I loved the meditation session and the fire ritual! We stayed for two nights and took evening cemetery tour which was informative and mysterious at the same time! Dinners are superb! I booked family room for two of us and it was great and spacious. I would recommend this place for anyone interested in Buddhism or with appreciation of esoteric teachings. Staff is caring and attentive!

We had an amazing stay, the hotel had literally everything we could think of: a spacious room with lots of different (!!) outlets including type-c and usb, free use of hotel onsen with volcanic water (tattoo-friendly), drinking water and fully equipped shared kitchen, and of course - a very reasonably priced bakery. Would definitely stay again if in Shirahama!

Nonagase guest house is exquisite. From the moment we arrived everything was perfect. The accommodation itself is incredible, a historic residence that has been very beautifully restored in the Japanese style. What made our stay truly special though was Hitomi, the manager of the guest house. Her warm, friendly welcome made us feel at home straight away. Hitomi organised luggage transfer for our next day of hiking so we didn't have to carry our big backpacks. We had the most wonderful 6 course dinner that night where Hitomi carefully explained all the local produce and the dishes being served. Thank you Hitomi, you made our stay in Chikatsuyu so very memorable, it will be one of the highlights of our Japan trip, we feel lucky to have been able to stay with you 😊 Also important to know... Nonagase guest house has a really nice beer garden out the back where you can enjoy local craft beers and produce in a very relaxed atmosphere 😊

It is located 29 km from Kamitonda Concert Hall and features full-day security. The guest house has parking on-site, a hot tub and a shared kitchen. Minshuku Wago is truly an exceptional place! The owner is incredibly kind, and the hospitality was the best we've experienced. It was a rainy and chilly day, and the owner kindly asked if we would like to use the ofuro, we said yes, and the owner prepared everything perfectly for my husband and me. The room was spacious and clean, and we appreciated having access to laundry. They also provided three delicious meals, including a bento for our Kumano Kodo hike. We felt so well taken care of. highly recommended!
