We booked the whole package through the camp transport from Nairobi ($250) and a full-day safari with Dennis as our driver ($250, excluding park fees). I’m so glad we went with them. Dennis was kind, knowledgeable, and made the safari unforgettable. Sandra handled all the arrangements and was super clear and honest about everything, even letting me know about bank charges upfront. The camp itself is beautiful. We stayed in a deluxe tent, which was spacious and comfortable. The food was incredible fresh, delicious, and they changed the menu every day. But what really stood out was the staff. This isn’t a big place, but that’s what makes it feel so special.

Very close to Talac gate. Short walk into town if you need to, ATM. Very comfortable bed, great shower, very quiet day and night. 3min walk to river where there's a Hippo family and a large group of baboons on the opposite bank. Food was plentiful and delicious. Very clean in room ,toilet and eating areas. Very enjoyable stay.

Talek Bush Camp – A Comprehensive Review It has taken me some time to be able to write down into words just how fantastic staying at Talek was, as I feel such a sadness to no longer be there. If you are considering booking this place, or you are looking for somewhere in the Masai Mara to stay, then look no further. Talek is sensational. My family and I felt like VIP’s from the moment we arrived and that treatment did not stop until even after we left Masai Mara. I’ll break down my review into a few important sections, but overall, I feel like I have left my heart at Talek and with the wonderful, warm, conscientious and welcoming people that live and work there. Before Arriving at Camp: I am one of those people that likes to meticulously plan, and that meant that I had found Talek, and Abdul (the wonderful owner) online one year before I even left the UK. From the moment that I messaged Abdul, he was friendly, informative and nothing was too much trouble. This is something that remained true of Abdul and his team throughout our stay. Abdul kindly arranged a transport for us from Nairobi and the five-hour drive to Talek was seamless. The drivers were kind, informative and friendly and even allowed us time to stop and take pictures on our journey. Before arrival Abdul explained how best the safari drives would work and even booked a hot air balloon trip for my husband and I on the day of our anniversary. Every time I messaged Abdul, nothing was too much trouble He was always happy to help and took the time to respond carefully to every query. Our driver, I am so sorry I have forgotten his name, who works at the camp, even took us to the local Masai Village where we met the people and learned all about their culture. What an experience. It was truly fantastic. Accommodation: We stayed in one of the cottages, a little brickwork cabin down with a wonderful view of the river. (One of the only ones to survive the horrendous flood).

The staff was accomodating and friendly, food was very good and our safari guide, Dominic was the very best guide we have had after several trips to Africa.

We had an amazing stay at Mara Hilltop – truly one of the best experiences we’ve ever had! The view was breathtaking, and the tent was very clean, comfortable, and beautifully set up. Special thanks to Chef Allan for the delicious meals, and to Lucia and Steve who were always so helpful and accommodating throughout our stay. Our game drives were unforgettable with Ken, an excellent driver who made sure we saw the Big 5! In Nairobi, John was also a great driver who took care of us very well. One of the highlights of our trip was the nature walk with Dickson – he was such a knowledgeable and engaging guide, making it an incredible experience. A huge thank you to NJ, a very patient owner who always responded to all my queries, and to Nick, who went above and beyond to ensure our safety and comfort, even checking in with us on our way home. Everything was so wonderful that we ended up extending our stay. We highly recommend Mara Hilltop Camp to anyone visiting the Masai Mara – you will not be disappointed!

The host was incredibly kind, very helpful, and communicated clearly throughout our visit. The place itself is spotless—clean, tidy, and exactly as described in her listing. The small kitchen had all the necessary kitchenette amenities, though we were unfortunately too tired to cook as we had just arrived from Nakuru. We also appreciated the good security. Overall, it was a comfortable and pleasant stay, and we would highly recommend it.

We had a warm welcome from the staff and felt right at home. This place is exceptional. The host helped us plan the game drive and our shuttle service from Nairobi and back. The house was clean and is beautifully designed. The staff were at our availability and our meals were well prepared. It was all just positive and an unforgettable experience.
