They can manage lots of services in-house (surf coach, laundry, taxi, etc.). They have even convenience store in-house. So all daily facilities are there for a perfect surf holiday. If you need surf training ask for Risy.

This was the best hotel we stayed at in Sri Lanka and we would rebook a trip to the country just to stay here all week. The masseuse was brilliant and really good value. All of the staff were lovely particularly the older gentleman who had clearly worked in high end hotels and was so attentive and could not have done more for us during our time.

Excellent location - 20 meters to the beach, the Main Street with all caffès and shops. 15 min driving to Peanut Farm - the starting point for beginners in surfing. Banana Cafe is just next to the hotel and has very nice food and drinks. Mohammed is very friendly, he gave us delicious cakes, arranged surfing classes for us, always helped us with everything we need. Other staff were also very helpful. The room was clean, has good AC, the bed was comfy. We really enjoyed staying at Lucky Bay.

Absolutely stunning, private, peaceful and relaxing. Our whole stay at Blue Water was perfect, the cabanas are cute, clean and spacious for couples. We couldn’t fault anything. We stayed for my 40th birthday and the team decorated our room, what a lovely surprise on entry. Although there is no air conditioning, the fans in the room are sufficient and the cabanas are designed well with openings for a breeze. Rinos is amazing, he was so attentive and looked after all of our needs. He’s really friendly, a pleasure to meet and an excellent chef. Sudha and Dinosan are both phenomenal, they make sure the whole area around the cabanas are pristine, they take so much pride and leave patterns in the sand for guests. There is a good variety of food, the fresh juices are so tasty. We had breakfast and dinner most days and Rinos catered for our tastes. The beach is private and only a few steps away, most days we were the only ones there, it is paradise. At night we fell asleep to the sound of the waves. Thank you Blue Water you made our stay unforgettable.

Wonderful property and host! Iqbal and his staff were so warm and welcoming! They went above and beyond making sure I felt comfortable and enjoyed my stay! I was welcomed with delicious pineapple juice and a pastry. I ended extending my stay because it was such a warm and cozy place to spend a few days at the beach. Beach access is a few meters away. Iqbal also arranged surf lessons to peanut farm and I couldn’t recommend them enough! Best surf coach I’ve ever had! The room was very clean and spacious with hangers for wet clothes and storage. The hammocks outside each room are a very nice touch and relaxing. Each morning, the breakfast was very good and tasty! Lots of fresh fruit! Whatever you need, Iqbal and his team will take care of. Had a lot of nice chats with Iqbal. He will be missed! Wish I could stay for longer. Will definitely be back to this cozy piece of paradise.

Stay Golden has been one of our favourite stays of our entire time in Sri Lanka. Beautiful bungalows/apartments, the sweetest staff (our kids still miss them) and delicous and healthy food available from 8 AM until 9 PM. What we really liked was that there were always several families staying here and that the owners was also pretty much always around with their family, it created a nice and homely vibe in which we felt very welcome. Big thanks to Rihan and Angie and we hope to visit again some day!

Charitha Rest se nachází v destinaci Ampara a má zahradu, sdílený lounge, terasu a bezplatné Wi-Fi. Na místě je k dispozici soukromé parkoviště. Charitha and his family were great hosts and extremely attentive to all our needs (ready to go above and beyond). The food was delicious, the room was large and clean with an air conditioning that worked almost too well, there is a seating area in the garden from which you can hear birds and witness monkeys walking along the electrical wires. The property is walking distance (30 min) from Owagiriya Natabun Viharaya (Buddhist temple ruins) and as we were on our way Charitha kindly gave us a lift, as well as to another destination later during our stay. Both the father and mother are absolute sweethearts, and are more than happy to sit down with you for a chat (I had a little well needed Sinhalese crash course). From what I can see they are building more rooms/bungalows and a restaurant in the back, but as of February 2025 it truly had that quaint local feel I look for when I travel.

The owner is the highlight of the stay. He is a celebrity chef, the breakfast he serves is top-notch. He goes out of the way to help you. He even decorated the room for my birthday. His suggestion for dinner and bakery were all good. The property is walking distance from the ever bustling beach. Full of greenery.
