First thing first about this accommodation: the hosts of Nasho Vruho are the most amazing and wonderful people. The owners are a local couple who have lived in Berat for many years. Nasho speaks several European languages and though his English is somewhat limited his ability to assist with anything you need and make you laugh is not. When we arrived for check in he also allowed us to choose our favorite room on the property within our room tier as we were the first guests to check in for the day. His wonderful wife is the chef of the absolutely excellent Albanian style breakfast included with the stay. When she saw how much I enjoyed her breakfast cake she even wrapped us up two extra slices to take on our way before we left for the day. They were such kind and excellent hosts who truly want their guests to have the best stay. The guesthouse itself is a beautifully restored old home within Berat's historic stone old town. Each room is a little different and has its own lovely quirk about it too. We choose to stay in a room the reminded us of a castle tree house with large windows overlooking stunning views of the trees planted in the garden and the river beyond. It also had live trees growing within the room and exiting out the ceiling. As a little note, while we would consider this as expected with live plants growing through a building and do not consider it a negative, there were a few ants in our chosen room. Something to consider if you would dislike this. There are several rooms without plants. Also, bathroom is a wet bath - just an FYI.

A true family run gem. The hosts were incredibly warm and welcoming, making us feel right at home from the moment we arrived. The breakfast was generous, homemade, and full of local flavor. The atmosphere was cozy and personal, exactly what you’d hope for in a small, family run guesthouse in Berat.

Really spacious property. Plenty of room to spread out. Full bath in each dorm, another in common area. Spacious dorms. Goid cookware for food prep. Nice breakfast. Great staff. Cool owner who is actually on the property and cares about guests. What more do you want?

I had a wonderful stay at this newly designed hotel. The place has a fresh, modern look that is both stylish and welcoming. The homemade breakfast was a standout feature, offering delicious and hearty options each morning. The hotel's location is ideal, providing easy access to nearby attractions. We drove to Berat and appreciated Mikael’s clear messages and photos on WhatsApp with driving and parking instructions. His parents were the on-site hosts, very kind and hospitable, even helping do a load of laundry. His father waited to greet us at the parking location and helped carry luggage to and from the house (80 m on cobblestone road). Breakfast featured three different homemade jams! It was colder when we stayed in mid- November and the AC unit kept our room warm. They brought an extra space heater for the bathroom so we could shower. We were able to walk to the castle and old town Berat. and ate at the inexpensive restaurant nearby (Trad. Food Anxhelo). Bed was comfortable, good shower.
